I said it was wrong to kill her. That is my opinion. Nothing can change it. No list of "facts" will ever change it.
And I put "facts" in quotes because most of the so-called "facts" posted here were in fact "opinion." Whether it was a poster's opinion, a reporter's opinion, her husband's opinion, a relative's opinion, a supporter's opinion, a detractor's opinion, a politician's opinion, a lawyer's opinion, a doctor's opinion, the president's opinion, the governor's opinion, or even the judge's opinion - they were and are all opinions.
And none of them are incontrovertible or indisputable fact.
In fact, they continue calling in more doctors and more experts to give their opinion even after it's all said and done. In this battle of press, public, politicians, doctors, lawyers and "experts" the side with the most thumbs down votes won and she was killed. What was it, two out of three or three out of five? How about we go for seven out of twelve? How about one "no" vote out of twelve and you don't execute?
The last I heard, in this country when you are on trial for your life, if there is one doubtful juror, you don't receive a death sentence. The accused receives the benefit of the doubt. Of course, Terri did not even receive the benefit of a trial much less the benefit of the doubt. She was simply snuffed out per a judge's order based on three out of five expert "opinions." It's a shame and a disgrace and a mockery of justice.

just curious, would you think differently if you felt certain Michael was lying, and he did not KNOW her wishes?
And would you support in the future, toughening up the burden of proof, more along the lines for an accused murderer?
Very cool.
Thank you Jim.
You have a different take on this whole mess and I appreciate it.
This is a very sad event in American life.
Jim's right.
Thanks for posting.
It's sick what they did to her. It was a virtual 13-day snuff film in real time.
....That the Justice system did not do so for Terri is a travesty and a mockery...and down right scary. Something we must fight to the hilt.
......
Agreed. I don't intend to lightly accept state-supported murder of U.S. citizens no matter who is for or against it.
...And none of them are incontrovertible or indisputable fact...
They tried to hide this. It has turned into their worst nighmare.
And if it hasn't yet, make it so Captain.
Everyone I've talked to is angry. The people are fed up.
Called Tom Delay's office and said I support him 100% in reining in the judiciary. Greer's little note to the DCF echoed of Mayberry vs Madison. "The other branches of government are not superior to the court in the matters of the law". Something very close to that.
Impeach him for thinking he could order forces which he does not control.
Think I'm riled up? You bet I am.
Lex inuista non est lex.
You're a good man, JimRob!
Thank you for your eloquence.
Now or while this was going on was not the time to remain quiet because of any dissension on FR.
Being quiet and unaware is exactly how the laws got manipulated in Florida that led to the murder of an innocent.
You know what really chaps me? Nobody wanted Terri except her parents. Michael wanted her dead. They treated Terri like garbage but would not even let the parents pick up the garbage.
How would any of us feel if this had been our daughter?
Jim is right. Murder in the first degree is always wrong, otherwise it would not be murder. Some inferior translations of the Bible/Torah use the word kill in the Commandments, but the correct word is murder. That is what happened to Terri, Judicial Murder.
Voting on a thing makes it neither right nor wrong. Opinions are opinions, they are how someone views a thing. An opinion one way or the other does not make something right or wrong. There is a higher authority, referred to in our founding papers. He has defined right and wrong. Liberals cannot grasp this. No matter how much propaganda is put out, right is still right, wrong is still wrong.
If a judge says a dogs tail is a leg, how many legs does a dog have?
Four, calling a leg a tail does not make it a tail, even if it is called a tail by a judge.
Jim is wrong on count, though. She was simply snuffed out per a judge's order based on three out of five expert "opinions. Terri was tortured to death, with pre-meditation and under color of authority.
Very well said. And you made an original as well as excellent point. And that IS a fact!
Glenn Beck said it well last week when he basically stated that at the end of this travesty everyone with power got to leave the table, the only one not to leave was the one with no power of her own.
...The only difference with Terri is that she got more publicity than the others murdered in similar fashion before her....
Well - they sure should have had the publicity too.
We need to know of such goings on and we need to get it corrected.
Again, I do not tolerate lightly murder of American citizens by the law, the state, the federal government or anyone. Man is not God and when man tries to take on God's duties, he does a lousy job and we all suffer.
Man is man and does not love all of us, is not fair, does not have wisdom. Man is a selfish creature that will always judge through prejudiced eyes. With all men judging the value of others' lives, none of us could live very long, someone surely would think us worthless.
Exactly my feelings .. I have been sickened, physically and to the core of my soul. I shall never forget this, nor be the same ever.
The March For Justice II, is so very timely. I've been wanting to mention that.
And the cause of that is VIDEO. People could see with their own eyes that the so-called "vegetable" wasn't. Had it not been for the videos, Terri wouldn't have gotten even 1% of the support she received. And had the parents been allowed to shoot more video, Terri could never have been murdered. There's a reason Michael forbade video, and it had nothing to do with her "privacy", except in the sense that abusers often protect the "privacy" of their victims.
...We should not be oppressed by judges.
....
And another..
We should not be oppressed by those who wish to judge whether man is worthy of living and when they should die.
