My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and me...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

I have lost so much of my poetry with computer crashes, and had some stuff on poetry.com...but I'm no longer in their database. A lesson to all...PUT IT ON PAPER.
So I guess I'll wing it, for my first contribution to this wonderful thread:
Unforgiving
Some say to not forgive is a sin..
I think that is true.
I do forgive, but not forget.
For those who love the pain is there..
Living inside us, consuming us
Wanting to forgive, and forget.
My mind wanders, comptemplating the difference
It's unclear at times
Other times, it's as clear as the sky
To forgive is to love
To forget is to question
To forgive and forget...?

Beautiful poem Lisa. Thank you so much. I do fully agree with you. Forgiving is a tough thing to due, however.
I have found it is necessary to do it, not so much for the other person, but for me so I can move on. HUGS

The Dumb Soldier Robert Louis Stevenson
When the grass was closely mown, Walking on the lawn alone, In the turf a hole I found, And hid a soldier underground.
Spring and daisies came apace; Grasses hide my hiding place; Grasses run like a green sea O'er the lawn up to my knee.

My Grandma Is A Penguin
My Grandma is a penguin, shes quite a site to see, Shell be very happy when, she comes to visit me! She lives in Alaska where, her best friend is a polar bear! She wonders why Im SO afraid, when I visit the polar bears cave! She has friends that are penguins too, she even has friends at the zoo! When she visits she eats all our fish, and she sure eats a fishy dish! Shes afraid of the following things: Dogs, cars, and even Rings! She brings an umbrella wherever she goes, and she wonders when he next ice age will come! On her head she has a pink hat, she loves snow and thats that. My Grandmas name is Lori, My Grandpa is a Penguin too, but thats another story.

After Apple-Picking
My long two-pointed ladder's sticking through a tree
Toward heaven still,
And there's a barrel that I didn't fill
Beside it, and there may be two or three
Apples I didn't pick upon some bough.
But I am done with apple-picking now.
Essence of winter sleep is on the night,
The scent of apples: I am drowsing off.
I cannot rub the strangeness from my sight
I got from looking through a pane of glass
I skimmed this morning from the drinking trough
And held against the world of hoary grass.
It melted, and I let it fall and break.
But I was well
Upon my way to sleep before it fell,
And I could tell
What form my dreaming was about to take.
Magnified apples appear and disappear,
Stem end and blossom end,
And every fleck of russet showing dear.
My instep arch not only keeps the ache,
It keeps the pressure of a ladder-round.
I feel the ladder sway as the boughs bend.
And I keep hearing from the cellar bin
The rumbling sound
Of load on load of apples coming in.
For I have had too much
Of apple-picking: I am overtired
Of the great harvest I myself desired.
There were ten thousand thousand fruit to touch,
Cherish in hand, lift down, and not let fall.
For all
That struck the earth,
No matter if not bruised or spiked with stubble,
Went surely to the cider-apple heap
As of no worth.
One can see what will trouble
This sleep of mine, whatever sleep it is.
Were he not gone,
The woodchuck could say whether it's like his
Long sleep, as I describe its coming on,
Or just some human sleep.

I JUST THOUGHT YOU'D LIKE TO KNOWYou took my ring off of your finger
found you another place to live
Told all your friends and family
you needed more that I could give
For you to be the total woman
in today's society
I wish you well and hope you find
what you couldn't get from me
I just thought you'd like to know
there's never been no-one but you
In the time we had together
I did all I could do
To fulfill your each desire
Love you with my heart and soul
You're all I needed to be happy
and I Just thought you'd like to know
It hurts to know our wedding vows
don't mean forever anymore
But I'll pray till my dying breath
You'll come walking through that door
I just though you'd like to know
there'll never be no-one but you
To walk beside me in this life
and stir my passion like you do
When you hold my hand or laugh
Your little laugh I love so
I feel special and complete
And I just thought you'd like to know
I need your love to make me happy
And I just thought you'd like to know
