IF JEB BUSH DOEN'T ACT QUICKLY TO SAVE TERRY SCHIAVO, HIS POLLITICAL CARREER IS FINISHED!!
The wierd mind of gonzo ^ | march 24, 2005 | gonzo

If Terri dies when she could actually be kept alive, and Jeb Bush doesn't use the State Police or the Florida National Guard, or ANYTHING to prevent this travesty, he will be vilified by the democRATS if he ever seeks another office (like the Presidency).

It means nothing that some democRATS are actually trying to keep her alive. The only thing that the MSM will hammer on is that he stood by AS Governor and allowed that poor woman to DIE when he could have prevented it.

A poster above hit the proverbial nail. This all boils down to a head-on clash between the judiciary vs. the executive and legislative for supremacy and power in running this country and shaping its culture.

The judiciary has no intention of losing these battles. With few exceptions, from the level of hick judges like Greer, through the appellate hierarchies, straight up to the lofty Supremes, the lawyers in black robes will stay united in their arrogance and power lust. Unfortunately, the executive and legislative will back down, as they've been doing right along (despite the lip service and ineffectual ploys and photo ops).

I don't believe either of the Bushes have further high political office in mind, so I have doubts that political pressure from the public works with them in this aspect.

Our best hope is that if they have no more political aspirations, they will act according to their conscience.

They need to break a VERY BAD FLORIDA LAW that allows hearsay to be clear and convincing evidence, in LIFE AND DEATH ISSUES, without ANY investigation of said guardian.

If this alone does not SMASH the constitutional rights of EVERY disabled ward.......... I don't know WHAT DOES!

TERRI has had NO RIGHTS!

If the Schindlers need to sue anybody, it is their own legal team, not Jeb Bush.

I can't understand why he has not acted already. Why are they petitioning Greer again today. They know how he will rule. Keyes is right (on another thread) he has the executive power to act.

I wonder how much the Scientology people in that part of Florida have been pushing the euthanasia agenda. You should know that the world headquarters for the "Church" of Scientology is in Clearwater, Florida

No I did not know. Interesting. Thanks

I am sickened with this. I wish the politicians in the states would step away from the issue at hand and actually see what this situation is. This brain damaged woman is dying before us, because it is being allowed. If she isnt being cared for in the hospice, why is she still there?? Give her the dignity she deserves. Let the parents take her home, the state will rule they are unfit, and Adult Protective Services will take custody of her. May God continue to be with her.

And now we'll watch the courts make its decisions. But we looked at all options from the executive branch perspective."

I just heard it for myself and I have two observations:

1) I believe the transcript is WRONG. The President said, "And now we'll watch the courts make its decisions. But we look at all options from the executive branch perspective." - present tense

2) It cannot show in a flat transcript. But the President paused after the first sentence. Then he adopted a more stern, deeper tone for the second.

I revert to my previous opininion. It was a clear warning that has been lost in print.

The governor himself said they had the authority to do this at his 3 PM news conference yesterday. Terri dies with every hour. Greer sits on his bench and defies the law...he should be charged with obstruction IMHO.

After thinking about it, all I can figure is that in an emergency situation, after so many hours they have to get the judges's court order. Maybe they are letting Greer out himself so much that he can be removed from the bench, and are also buying themselves more time over the holiday weekend. It's a dicey, very time critical manuever.

At any rate, I sent this email this morning:

Governor Bush,

Governor...JUST ACT, for the love of God, ACT NOW!

Do not put it out there and then not act. You have placed the method for saving this innocent life on the table through the use of emergency intervention by protective services based on the abuse investigation. You have the legal and moral right to do so. Use the state police and send them in immediately.

Your political standing, the raving of pundits and hacks, the bellowings of judicial tyrants, the knashing of those committed to the culture of death...all of that is immaterial to this one innocent woman's life. Governor, make good on your statements from yesterday.

The world is watching, your state is watching, the country is watching...God in Heaven is watching. Be the champion in this. A champion for life, for virtue, for justice. Stop with the niceties toward Greer and those of his ilk. Save Terri.

Sincerely,

Jeff Head
jeb.bush@myflorida.com

I pray to God in Heaven that His will will be done...and hope with all my heart that this includes the preservation of Terri's innocent life so that the love of her family and the love of God can be manifest in her mortal life. In truth, it already is.

I pray God will raise up a champion for her with the virtue, commitment and willingness to act clearly and resolutely on her behalf that will astound all those complicit in the crimes being committed against her and to the wonder of all others. Be that Champion the governor, or the people themselves, or someone or something as yet unkbown to us all.

I do pray that Governor Bush will use the authority he has, and will take her into protective custody and let the judges, the pundits and other politicians who will rave at such actions be damned. Let them fight the resulting crisis out at their levle while Terri is kept safe, while she gets a drink of water and the norishment she needs in the loving arms of her parents. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Patience. Waiting for SCOTUS. Just as few more hours. Pray God gives her and the Bushes strength. Harden the hearts of the judges.

The Judge or the Judiciary neither one have the power (physical power in the form of sherrifs) to throw the Governor in jail.

The Governor however DOES have that power. It's been done before and can be done in this situation if it is necessary.

Whether it is "Legal" or not is immaterial, it can be done.

"This is an extraordinary and sad case," Bush said as he hosted Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin and Mexican President Vicente Fox for talks on trade and border security.

"And I believe that in a case such as this, the legislative branch, the executive branch ought to err on the side of life, which we have. And now we'll watch the courts make its decisions. But we look at all options from the executive branch perspective," said Bush.

The Turkish Press version is undoubtedly correct.
And he said it with emphasis.

It's going to happen.
If she dies in the next few hours, they will seize the body.

Judges have people thrown in jail every day. They have the legal authority and the power to do so. I think the judge in this case is an arrogant ass who won't consider new information, but this thread was about placing the judge "in chains." Not doable unless you want to see our democracy scrapped. I don't and Jeb Bush won't consider it.

It was a restraining order isssued even on the sheriffs. Greer is really desperate. But there will be a clash of the judicial and executive branch today or tomorrow.
