__________________________________________

Mr. Fonseca was a graduate (class of 2003) of Sprayberry High School. The funeral procession was planned to go by Sprayberry at 10:25am and pause for a few moments in front of his old high school.

Principal Susan Galante, acting on orders from higher-up's, did not allow students to go outside and pay their respects to their former student, friend and fallen soldier, citing a rule that banned more than one school function per day. (A pep rally was scheduled for later in the afternoon).

There were no announcements to the student to alert them that the procession was passing or to give them the opportunity to pay their respects other than a few teachers and coaches (2 or 3 teachers) alerting their individual students that the procession was heading by the school and allowing them to go outside.

Oh dear... prayers for this hero's family! And a big fat raspberry to the principal of his high school. What an awful slight. Just awful!

They were forbidden to pay respects because the principal and "higher-ups" thought a pep rally was more important? What the #&#^# is wrong with them?

This is crazy. It's shameful.

May Pfc. Jesus Fonseca Jr. rest in God's peace. Prayers and condolences for his family and friends.

It is also my fervent hope that the principal's "higher-ups" will soon be out of their jobs!

It appears that this Hero was slighted by the Georgia citizens.

My prayers to this young mans family, they have lost so very much.

What appears to be a grass background in the first two webpages is actually a green tinted repeating image of US Marines praying while in formation :

Thanks Brenda.

That is unbelievable. To have a moment like that slip by and not acknowledge it by the school is incredible bad judgment by the school administration.

These people who made this decision should be ashamed of themselves.

Let's crash it. This is a disgrace. Every serviceman and woman is entitled to our utmost respect, particularly when they have made the ultimate sacrifice. V's wife.

This link gives you the name and contact information for the Superintendent of the Cobb County Schools. Since this was on a directive from a 'higher-up', I would go straight to this man with it.

Regardless of the principal's slanted personal view on the war in Iraq which was evidenced by her lame excuse for not allowing this RECENT graduate of the high school to be honored, this is too reminiscent of the way I was treated 35 years ago when I was in the military.

I prayed at that time that no future members of our armed forces would ever have to endure ill-treatment and scorn by fellow citizens. It appears this principal merely took her lead from our esteemed legislators who express lip-service in support of our military personnel but miss no opportunity to defile their memory.

This is merely conjecture, but I suspect if an anti-war "celebrity" offered to speak at the school on the day of Pfc. Fonseca Jr.'s funeral, she would have waived the "one assembly per day rule".

May Pfc. Jesus Fonseca Jr. now reside in the arms of his namesake and may his family take solace knowing that they will be the focus of my prayers today. I humbly thank him for his service to our country and his service to people he will never meet who will experience democracy because of his unselfish bravery.

God bless,

EODGUY

BUMP-ing in grateful memory of one of our fallen warriors.

I wonder if our fore fathers endured this much vile from the left during their struggles for freedom.

I just started reading a book titled "The Politically Incorrect Guide to American History" by Thomas E. Woods Jr., PhD. Just within the first few pages, it illustrates a curious light on the far left of the past, and refutes many of the "misinterpretations" they have made over the generations.

This Marine fought for us, let us never forget him, or others like him who shed blood for us, so we can live in peace. May he rest in the peace of God's loving arms.

Morning Karen,

Signed the guest book for this tremendous Marine.

The left is looking more pathetic. The late rants of Kennedy make the liberal agenda more anti American everyday.

Prayers for this soldier and his family.

The school should be ashamed, I hope there is hell to pay for them.

My neighbor's grandson was also killed in Iraq. Unlike this Marine, however, the community outpouring was immense. People waited hours on line in bitter cold, to pay their last respects. When his funeral procession passed in front of the catholic elementary school he attended as a child, all the children were lined up outside to pay their last respects. The Lieutenant Governor attended his funeral.

My prayers for him and his family.

Just sent off a respectful, but strong letter to the Superintendent of their schools.

I read where he is an Air Force veteran. I am hoping he had nothing to do with this decision.
