I decided to change my ways. After a lot of soul searching, I've realized that the GOP does not have my best interests in mind. I can no longer support an administration and a party that cannot look beyond the immediate future and see the long-term consequences of their actions. I've thought about where this administration's policies will leave me and my future family in 30, 40, 50 years....and I do not like the picture. I never thought I would say this, but I'm turning blue. While some of you may call me a jackass, I am now proud to call myself a Democrat.

I actually think you'd make a better liberal anyway. Your farewell address had nothing specific in it, which would tell me that you 'feel' that a change is necessary.
By all means, do what you 'feel' you gotta do.

Can you imagine the outrage from the left if some conservative announced that he wished he could mow down liberals with his guns? They would be howling that conservatives are crazy, evil, Nazis, etc.
The hypocrisy is sickening.

Thank you at least for waiting until after the election to switch sides. Your Bush vote in Ohio was much appreciated. (You did vote for Bush, didn't you?)

Some people will stop at nothing to continue voting after they die.
Good luck getting the gubmint goodies the dems like to give out.
You might want to practice hating America and loving genocidal dictators and you'll fit fight in over there.

ohioGOP,
The Republican party doesn't do it for ya? What do you see out the Demos that looks more appealing? Unless your looking for a license to do what you want whenever you want regardless of the consequences to you or others I can't see how you feel you will be better represented by the Demos. Or maybe you are for gay marriage, declining social values, worthless public schools. If thats the case you probably made the right decision. Good luck. You'll be back once you sober up.
