Why are coffeehouses over-run with DemocRATS?!?!? (Mod sets bongo aside, zots troll)
Posted on 12/14/2004 11:14:29 AM PST by CarolinaGOPer
I live in a college town in North Carolina, and recently I went into a coffee shop to innocently purchase a cup of coffee. What I instead found was a veritable den of sin, filled with Marxists and DemocRATS. To wit:
-The entire place stunk of patchoulli -Patrons were reading 'Tropic of Cancer', 'The Communist Manifesto', and 'Stupid White Men' -- titles that I would never want my good G*d-fearing children getting a hippie's length away from (of course, not a Bible to be found) -Two women were kissing (of course, I could only tell they were women upon further inspection, if you catch my drift; they seemed to be wearing very comfortable shoes) -Someone was actually playing *bongos* in the corner -The combined annual income of the patrons was less than what I paid for my car
Why is it, dear Freepers, that coffeehouses are controlled by these liberals? Why can't family-loving, G*d-fearing, red-blooded Americans simply get a cup of coffee without having our values completely desecrated?!? Are there any conservative coffeehouses, where this ridicuolousness is not tolerated?

I may know that coffee shop. Long distance relationship - halfway point is a college town in North Carolina. We spend a lot of time there.
Its astonishing how many hippie types you see - as well as other alternative lifestyle types. Certainly not a slice of America as I know it.

I see the same stuff in Bookstores, lol in NC too. I believe the bookstore thing is widespread though.
I believe it's because a liberal feels the need to display their 'intellect' by being seen reading in a public place.
There's also an element of collectivism they all cherish, and what not a better way to fulfill that than to read with groups of other people displaying their 'superior intellect'. A friend of mine and I often laugh at the mere appearance of people in a Barn & Noble we go to from time to time. Something about seeing obvious liberals is just entertaining to us lol. Since we are young we blend in just enough not to be noticed when we are around them!

I was at App before there were coffeehouses. We had hippies living in Little Brooklyn (apts across from the Baptist Church). They mostly hung around downtown and begged for money.

The combined annual income of the patrons was less than what I paid for my car I say 8 minimum, just for the stupidity displayed thus. :)

If you want instant skit, all you need is bongoes, a long greasy wig topped by some sort of felt cap. For an extra bonus, put on a pair of reading glasses with smoked lenses.
The entire look just lends itself to comedy, yet these people take themselves seriously.

Confession time: I'm hopelessly addicted to(gasp)McDonald's coffee.
I usually do the drive thru and when I do have companions in my car they are always delightful.

Yes, all over Texas (and I would assume, the rest of the U.S. except for the north-east and Kalifornia) there are places called diners, where small town folk gather, talk about crops, weather, the big festival happening the following weekend at church, how outraged they are at the moral decay of American values, etc. The bulk of these people proudly served their country, and wouldn't hesitate to clearly illustrate what they think about the pathetic state of today's youth. If, by chance my truck was in the parking lot, they would see my prominently displayed sticker which speaks to generations of the granola-istas:
SHUT UP HIPPY!
