As a long-time conservative, a Viet Nam veteran, lifetime Christian, and as someone with an inquisitive mind, I need to understand why George Bush was chosen to carry the banner of Conservatism?
Mine too at times.
But very rarely.
If he is a troll, he will slip up eventually.
McCain a conservative?
"Sooner or later you'll click on a thread, alarm bells will go off and you'll be trying to remember who to ping for this dingaling."
LOL!
Yes, I remember the first troll I ran across.
I got really mad about it too, I couldn't think of anyone to assist in smacking the troll around.
Probably the only zot thread I ran away from because I couldn't think of people to ping to it.
Democrat=Liberal
Republican=Conservative
Independent=Republican who swore he would never be a Republicn
Libertarian=Independent who Smokes Dope
Pray for W and Our Troops

Mind of Adam Smith, body of a crispy critter. :(
Hard to tell on that one. He's on my Watch List now.
Your words. Not mine.
I just read about 100 posts on this thread. I will try to answer your question and make some observations. As to the facination with George W.Bush , I believe you use the wrong term. I don't think we are any more facinated with him than with other previous presidents, but I do think he brings a sense of gentility and open honesty in his presentation to Americans. He is smart, but that is not facination. Clinton was smart, and his legacy is leaching into the cesspool of history because he had no core beliefs. He was ordered in his life by his hedonism and narscicism, and for that the entire country continues to pay a terrble toll. President Bush is what he appears. He is honest and a straight shooter. You really don't have to guess at what his motives are, because they are there for all to see. This confounds his critics, because they do not order there lives in that way and cannot imagine that someone who has assended to the apex of power could have done so without skullduggery. This not only confuses them, it disappoints them. They keep looking for his human failings and a sign of cryptic plannings and cannot find them. They know that is how they would do it and they cannot fathom otherwise. In the end his fundamental decency wins the day every time. This has his detractors in derision. I believe you can see a lot of order in his conduct by looking at his wife. Simply put, compare and contrast Hillary Clinton and Laura Bush as people. One is a monster and the other is grace under fire. As to President Bush running a deficit spending government, this too concerns me, but to be fair, Candidate Bush, in 2000 said the only way he would raise taxes and deficit spend is if there was a war. Well.... I wish you would answer some of the questions posited regarding President Bush trashing any military man, past or present. He did not do it. Your assersition is fraudulent. As for abortion and homosexual rights, you simply give yourself away as to the calumny you have committed on this thread. You clearly are not conservative in any bent. In the end President Bushs' fundamental decency won the day. 52% of America believed him. Mr. Kerry, was asked some rather simple questions by Mr. Oneil et.al. and refused over 4 months to answer. The reason he did not answer those questions was because his calculus was that the answers would alienate more Americans than it would bring to the democrat side. Kerry seemed plastic and contrived. From the video done in 1969 admittedly to be used in future political campaigns. It reminded one of Clintons' letter to his national guard commander where he tried to wax eloquent about not wanting to do damage to his future political ambitions. It was designed to deceive. Clintons worked, but Kerrys' did not. To this day I do not know what Kerrys' core beliefs are. I do know he wanted to be president. But I do not know where he wanted to take the country. About abortion. "To me this is a religious question". I agree. We are endowed by our creator with certain unalienable rights, among which are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Without life the other given rights have no meaning. Look at your children and ask if you would feel you would have done the right thing to kill them at 3 month gestation. Then walk over to them and tell them so. But think about it before you do. You did not creat that life, though you might have carried it or sired it. Our biological scientists work feverishly to design and make life, but they cannot so much as manufacture a blue green algae cell, one of the most simple cells we know of. So I agree with you, the notion of abortion is that which is above our pay grade...life is a gift which we should tremble at removing. Your request for secular answers perplexes. Why would you ask for that after you stipulated that the subject of abortion and homosexuality is a subject that falls into the category of religious concepts. I have tried to be honest with you. You should extend the same to the Freepers who took their time to examine your thoughts and comment on them
Usually "Welcome to FR." means "Hey, everybody! It's a newbie!"
I stopped reading after you said you did not vote for GWB in either election.
Furthermore, I don't believe you are a Vietnam Veteran.
All your Nukes Belong to Us!!!!
ZOT!.. Nuke For The Viking Kitties WOOOT WOOT WOOT!!
Yup...but there's a difference between a "newbie" and a "troll".
This proves that you are a liar. Anyone with an IQ over 60 KNOWS KERRY WAS KICKED OUT OF THE NAVY WITH A LESS THAN HONORABLE DISCHARGE. Even though Jimmah Crapper changed his discharge to "General" and Klintoon changed it to Honorable 20 years later, sKerry still is a traitor.
I feel sorry for idiots like you but feel even sorrier for the millions of people you are dissing.
It's only 88kb, if your browser was slow loading this thread it wasn't because of my nuke.
And Jerome Bettis saved the Steelers!! Woo hoo!!
