I find it too hard to post responses on Free Republic. There are so many people posting threads and responses that the volume alone is enough to bury anything you might want to say. You can rarely say anything substantive either, and for much the same reason, because by the time you finish thinking and typing, your response will have become irrelevant and the thread itslef will be 10 items down the list. This precludes people from reading your post, which is after al the whole point of posting in the first place (vanity, thy name is I). I guess that its in the nature of the beast, so to speak.
You find a thread you're interested in and if you have a comment, post it. Then browse and find another thread that interests you.
Or use the refresh button continuously. I do that when FR is moving extremely fast. Eventually I'll come across any thread I might have missed previously.
Now, excuse me while I go check what's being posted while I've been busy posting to your thread.
Why not fly your state flag.....
And I am pinging some other experts in giving assistance.
There is also an interactive website with with assistance suggestions:
It ain't no Undead Thread (26,850 posts and counting) but it has potential.
An idiot on another forum used to have this in her tag line. I asked her what she was eating!!!
Go to My Preferences and set you Pagination to 20 per page.
Also set your browser to use the same window to open threads; it helps if you keep it all in one browser.
P&Y is HILARIOUS!
I suspect it will be in play for quite some time.
I read it.
Posts become irrelevant because there is too much posting?
Then why is there too much post if posting is irrelevant?
I love this place, don't get me wrong. There are some funny, smart people on this site.
see the part about vanity
If you have something worthwhile to say, like Buckhead did, the whole world will listen.
I just knew you were an expert!!!
My biggest contribution is inserting today's vocab word: "kvetching"

You didn't answer the question. If posting is a useless thing (because of high volume), then why do a high volume of posters post?
Yep....stick with it...you'll learn a whole lot...and have lots of fun along the way. You've got to learn to focus...you bet there are lots of threads...find what interest you...or just go through threads and learn from the vast array of freepers!!! I'm still always learning lots. ;o)
Pinging another guy that has wordsmithing talent!
And here I thought that was a substantive reply. People like to post because they get their name up their and get to say what they think. Its irrelevant whether people read it. Or is that me being ego centric again? So...confused...
