Does CortiSlim work?
Vanity | 7/18/2004 | Me

Does anybody know if CortiSlim works?

I have been on a regular excercise regime for about 3 months. I do 1/2 hour of semi-intense treadmill 4 or 5 mornings a week. I am averaging 1200 calories a day, all in proportion to the USRDA (as a measure -- I know some people disagree with the USRDA but my point is low on carbs and generally not strange in any direction).

But I have not lost any appreciable weight. If I look at the high/low chart the trend puts me down about maybe 2 pounds.

I keep seeing and hearing the Cortaslim commercials and I was thinking they miht work coupled with my regime -- at least to break the logjam.

Anyone have any info? Or ideas? I am pretty much at the max I can do for exercise, given the time constraints from my job.

The guy that invented it, Dr. Talbot?. Suggest if you think you have a Cortisol Hormone problem. Then go get a Blood Test to check your levels. If you read through all his stuff, you will find that he suggest CortiSlim for people that may have an imbalance of the hormone Cortisol. I haven't tried it myself, but have been researching the subject. There are Prescription drugs for Cortisol control, so that makes me leery about trying an over the counter Diet Drug.

Not an expert, but I think it would be helpful to someone trying to assist you to know if you are trying to lose 10 or 100 pounds.

With all the commercialls they run (talk radio is flooded with them), they are probably making lots of money. I suspect it is just the latest in a long time of get thin quick scams, IMHO.

If you want to lose weight, here is the solution. EAT LESS AND EXERCISE MORE. Second law of thermodynamics: In - Out + Generated = Stored. Same law applies to calories/weight.

There you go.... Free of charge.....

Did you read what I am doing?

1/2 hour treadmill 4-5 times a week, 1200 calories a day. My doctor says I should be losing weight.

I am not looking for something to bypass physics nor a magic bullet. Just looking to see if there is something that will help me kick the process along in addition to what I am doing.

And I don't want my post to sound terse.

I greatly appreciate any help anyone can lend.

I started out the year in size 40 jeans. By April I was in 36's. I just cut way back on the carbs. I didn't do the full atkins thing. I just started watching the carbs and kept them fewer than 30 per day. (10 or 20 if I could stand it.)
I was shocked when I started reading labels how many carbs I was taking in.

30!

wow -- well maybe I'll give that a shot. I have a nutritional calculator that's pretty good so I'll see if I can do it.

Has your doctor explained why you aren't losing weight?

30 carbs a day is very hard to maintain over an extended period of time.

We are doing a thyroid test.

But he is puzzled too. But at least my general health signs are good. Triglycerides good, bad cholerstorol way down (160s) good cholestorol up, etc.

"1/2 hour treadmill 4-5 times a week, 1200 calories a day. My doctor says I should be losing weight."

Well, one would surmise from that description that the essential variable lies in WHAT you are eating, not how much. The low-carb diets have been getting panned in the media of late, but I still think they are fundamentally on target, especially in their focus on sugar. You don't necessarily have to follow the severe recommendations of the Atkins. But try cutting out bread and potatoes for awhile, and ALL things rich in sugar. I don't know all the science. But the eating of more protein is also supposed to be related to the production of a fat-buring sunstance. Anyway, it worked for me.

I am diabetic. I have been watching carbs since before it bwas a fad (although I certainly don't go as low as the Atkins).

I guess I'll have to see if it my thyroid.

Thanks all

Atkins works! You're only on the extreme part for two weeks. Don't listen to the propaganda being splashed all over the media...the business community is suffering because of Atkins. Notice not one segment on Low Carbs/Atkins states that you're only on the extreme section for 2 weeks!

It works. And I've never felt better in my life. The best part...I'm never hungry, so it's easy to adhere to.

No offense taken..... I did read your original post. I posted what I did as a reminder to the rest of us what it takes to lose weight.
