Is there a bigger dope on the radio than Laura Ingraham?
WABC radio | July 8, 2004 | self

Posted on 07/08/2004 7:24:00 AM PDT by jmaroneps37

Absolutely desparte for something "orginal" to talk about, Laura Ingraham has just said that because John McCain did not attack the Kerry/Edwards ticket on the Today show this morning, "You can kiss this election good bye." Is there anything sadder than a radio personality that uses demagogic buzz language to try and get the phones to ring? There are 120 days or so until election day, but Luara Einstein Ingraham "knows" Kerry has won because of something that didn't happen three months before it even takes place! This woman is a genius!

One of our biggest problems is that our side works for a living. And we have had to work increasingly harder over the past few decades to make ends meet, given all the redistribution taking place. So there is only so much time, effort and focus available. But at some point, we are going to have to make time, en masse, and start knocking down some walls here.

It's amazing. So many of us put so much passion and focus into saving this country against what appear to be such obvious enemies and threats (within and without America). And then the people we work so hard to elect don't seem to even come close to matching our passion and we continue to drift in the wrong direction.

Sickening, isn't it? I've seen more debunking of the Democrats' lies here on the freeper board than I ever have by the Bush campaign. How sad is that?

You misunderstood her point, and posted a vanity thread littered with misspellings, and all this to call her a dope?

That's rich.

The Country Club Republicans loathe her since she isn't exactly their chief boosterer.

"how sad is that?"

Very sad. Still trying to figure out how best to deal with this stuff.

I love Laura. What I heard her say this morning is that if all of our campaigning mirrors what McCain did (i.e. playing nice guy instead of getting in the trenches and fighting it out) then we are in very real danger of losing in November. Nothing outrageous or even pessimistic about that.

This is the time for all good people to realize that we MUST have Bush re elected. The time for carping has long since passed.

If we think we're standing on so called principle and give aid and comfort to the enemy we will be condemning our country to slick willie redux.

My interpretation of your quote is that she is saying Kerry cannot win. But I have no context other than the one you offered. I don't even know if she is conservative or liberal.

Laura is a conservative. She's throwing a dose of cold water on over optimism the President will win this one easy. He has his work cut out for him. Up to now the WH has been sitting it out on its hands. That will have to change if the President wants to be re-elected in November.

It takes two to tango. The grassroots can only help so far but a sense of purpose begins at the top. Pinging Rove, Pinging Rove...

I want to see the President re-elected. We don't have a divine rights of kings in America and another four years on the job isn't an entitlement. The President needs to get out there and show why the Democrats are bad for America and he needs to do it on the substance - rebut their charges head-on. That means going on the offense. When the President does that, the base will follow.

Nothing needs to be said to me. I am the base. I don't need to be coddled, pampered, or catered to.

This is my country and the future of our children is at stake.

We will continue to drift Leftwards as long we insist on accepting the "lesser of two evils" candidates for public office. Splitting the difference is simply not good enough. To obtain a Free Republic, we must actively roll government back.

Well, now you're in for it! You make a very good point - one that gets me hammered by the Bushbots every time I raise it.

Bush is growing government like crazy, happily signed off on the First Amendment assault, bought into Ted Kennedy's "education" boondoggle and set us up to squander at least a trillion dollars on "free" pills to buy votes. And more, and more.

But none of that matters to the "Bush at all costs" people. For me, the cost is too high, and if he doesn't shape up he gets no support from me.

To put it differently, if we have a President who governs like a Democrat on domestic policy why keep him? Granted he's doing a good job of keeping this country safe but its not terribly persuasive to people if they see we're winning the war. Winston Churchill got high marks for his wartime leadership but the British people still voted him out of office at war's end. President Bush in my considered view, needs to make the case to the country on how the next four years under him are going to be better than the last four. He will lose if he doesn't start making it as actively as he can.

Don't come cryin' to us if it happens.

I was agreeing that W is not tough enough in confronting the Libs. He and his Dad are / were a little lite in addressing their political adversaries. IMO

Must have been some show cause Laura just said she was on GGRETA'S show with Susan Estrich......

You're right, my bad. It was Greta's show....but Estrich still reminds me of Caroll Channing on steroids!

Right. I want to hear some specifics about how, in a second term, Bush & Co. will rein in government. I don't mean "make it bigger, slower" - I mean killing off programs and agencies.

If he has no designs to start getting Big Stupid Government off our backs, there's absolutely no reason to vote for him. I never vote for politicians who want to enhance government spending and control, as Bush has in his first term.

The WOT will continue as a function of the office, not the man.

Bumper music? Rats. I had not thought of that.

Sir, or madam, I bow to your obvious wisdom.

I know. Where is the direction of this campaign? For goodness sake, we have all these Republican senators and congressman -- it would be nice if we could get somebody out there to stand up for Bush and refute some of the smears over the past few months. Where is Rove, anyway? What is he waiting for?
