Absolutely desparte for something "orginal" to talk about, Laura Ingraham has just said that because John McCain did not attack the Kerry/Edwards ticket on the Today show this morning, "You can kiss this election good bye." Is there anything sadder than a radio personality that uses demagogic buzz language to try and get the phones to ring? There are 120 days or so until election day, but Luara Einstein Ingraham "knows" Kerry has won because of something that didn't happen three months before it even takes place! This woman is a genius!
I agree with you 100% and as a fellow 'gold state GOP' member, I am really tired of our side pussing out in response to 'rat' challenges. Sometimes you have to respond aggressively, fighting fire with fire. And as good a job as I think W has done in some very difficult times for our country, I will be forever bitter with his whole administration if they blow what should be a slam dunk election.
You're right...we are losing the PR battle. How ironic that we are the tougher party in world affairs, but we are also the wimpier party in our political affairs.
>and yes we should be out fighting and hitting back every >thing the Lib's say, and Mccain woosed out on the Today >Show.
The guy that lost to Bush shouldn't be held responsible to bash his opponent. McCain has never been a staunch republican in my opinion anyway. RINO, you know?
Troll.
BUMP
Perhaps he means to shout.
I've got that same sinking feeling. Clinton never let any allegation against him go unchallenged, while the Bush Administration seems to just let all the insults and lies go. Couldn't they have one proxy defend Bush against Moore's movie, for one thing?
My friend, you have nailed it. That's exactly why I listen.
NOTE: She's available in replay on XMRADIO 166 noon-3 edt.
She clearly meant (and said) if we can't do any better than this we'll be doomed. She specifically said that the campaign needs to move from the "country club" Republicans to the "ethnics and millworkers" who provide the votes.
>I do think, however, that we will not lose this election. >Hillary Clinton does not want Kerry to win. She needs to >run, and run she will, in 2008 and can't have an incumbent >president in the way.
We shouldn't be relying on Hillary wanting or not wanting to be president to win or lose this election for us!!
I do think it's time to take off the gloves with Kerry, but even a little closer to the election. The 'undecided's' need to get a little sick of Kerry/Edwards and also they only remember the last thing they heard.
I'm SO glad that you wrote this piece. I had very similar thoughts while driving to work this morning on the Left Coast (Los Angeles) at 6:30am PDT.
I don't want the ratio of her to her guests to be 3-1. Then again, she was either a lawyer or an attorney, so she knows about filibustering. It just doesn't make for good radio.
For all the talk about "navel-gazing" and "negativity", what do I get when I listen to her? MOTS!!! (more of the same).
I will agree with one thing she said: "Cute isn't going to cut it, post 9-11." Ms. Ingraham, that applies to you as well.
My "healthy---radio--addiction---ENDS NOW (ENDS NOW)."
Mega "morning music and Bible study until Rush comes on" Dittoes!
I listened all morning and you mischaracterized what she said. She wants republicans to take on the democrats with issues that concern ordinary Americans, and she says the "Country Club Republican" approach won't win the election. She is exactly right. She did not predict a dem win, she is warning of the possibility if republicans don't get tough. I agree.
It's amazing. So many of us put so much passion and focus into saving this country against what appear to be such obvious enemies and threats (within and without America). And then the people we work so hard to elect don't seem to even come close to matching our passion and we continue to drift in the wrong direction.
Country Club Republicand don't want to rock the boat. They agree with Democrats the rifraff should be kept at arms length. Their disagreement is over who should receive the lion's share of the spoils.
I thought so.
Based on what you've said, this vanity thread is a waste of time posted by a fool.
Hey, that's the sort of crazy logic reserved for Red Sox fans only.
"We shouldn't be relying on Hillary...."
Absolutely. I do think she has made it a little easier for us. Kerry is terrible, but he will still get the ABB vote, so we will not have the luxury of sitting on the sidelines and watching. Winning is far from a sure thing.
We will continue to drift Leftwards as long we insist on accepting the "lesser of two evils" candidates for public office. Splitting the difference is simply not good enough. To obtain a Free Republic, we must actively roll government back.
Laura is telling it like it is - Bush, Rove and Cheney are Country Club Rep. - they aren't ready for the fight. They are going to lose this election and in the process watch real conservatives drift off to other parties because of their wimpy election strategies. Now is the time to get tough Bush has got to start playing hardball - his message is not resinating and he needs to put JohnJohn on the defensive. Your just upset because she is telling the truth - Bush is going to lose if he doesnt get serious - conservatives (not RINOs) are not happy with this elitist attitude that he conveys.
What a DUMB thread. Why don't you do a spell check, and list this as a VANITY thread? Laura is fantastic...
