[Soaring Feather]

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and I...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Uh oh.
I had a friend that when we were together we 'fed' off each other's 'mass looniness'..
So our combined weirdness was amplified and magnified in power.

Martha Stewart
got the axe
five months in the clink
it'll go fast
but the beepin' ankle bracelet
is one charm
she did not count on wearin'
on the farm or
candlelight dinners
with her beepin' away
oh dear, Martha this
is not a Good Day....

Our friend's favorite saying after we've gotten together... "Oh well, we have stories!"

He was hubby's roommate in college. He could sleep, literally, for days.

We met him, his wife and another friend and girlfriend in Anderson, IN to camp and then go to the 500 Speedway for qualifying. The other friend's truck was blown over by straight line winds when he cam out from under an overpass - rolled and totalled, but they were fine. We figured, might as well finish the weekend - they were all from Detroit and could just ride home together. Then Doug's circa 1970 VM Bus broke down. Hubby and I were in a toyota 4wd pickup. We towed them illegally from Anderson, In to Detroit - we couldn't fit them in our truck and they were riding in the towed vehicle. I can't even remember what else went wrong that weekend - it was insane. And that's one of our more normal get togethers!

Good morning everyone!

LOL!....love your Martha Stewart poem, ms. feather!!

I hope everyone's doing well this weekend.
We've been dealing with clean-up in these parts after several nasty storms rumbled through Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Couldn't get one mess cleaned up before the next storm blew through and left another mess. LOL! No tornados at the farm but several touched down close by. We just had to deal with lots of tree debris and lightning-strike damage.
I decided I'm gonna SLEEP IN in the morning so I could stay up a while to catch up at FR a lil bit tonight.....it's been a while. Plus I was jonzin' for some chok-lit donuts. LOL! Don't worry; I left plenty for everyone else and I cleaned up my mess. hehe.

Time to crawl off to the bat cave. This "day stuff" is wearing this lil vampire out. LOL!!

I Saw Myself on TV Today



I saw myself on TV today.
I am the one with perfect hair-- no grey, no split ends or flyaways.
I am the one with the natural highlights-- the ones from a bottle, a spray.
I always smell baby powder fresh. Or is it petal fresh?
I am the one wearing a diaper no one can see.
I am the one wearing "wings".
I am the perfect woman-- eating only low-fat cereal.
My teeth are bleach-white, no cavities.
I floss and I brush.
No wrinkles will you find- I "fight" my age.
A blemish? Eek! No..a lotion for that.
My children are perfect, blonde with 10 fingers and toes.
My house is always clean, my furniture new.
I am the one with the perky boobs, no hips, thighs or ass.
I am feminine with no feminine itching or odor.
My clothes are perfect, they match with no wrinkles.
I drink diet pop, eat diet foods, and Lean Cuisine.
I am always smiling, twirling and laughing-- preferably in a field of flowers.
EXCEPT when I am bloated and cramping-- of course there is a pill for that.
I am in charge of soft towels, fresh sheets and stain removal.
My makeup is perfect, my lipstick won't smug.
I have 20-20 vision or wear lenses, no glasses for me.
I don't sweat, I don't smell.
I have no heartburn or gas-- there are pills for that.
I have no corns, no bunions, no warts- there are pads for those.
I lost 5 pounds in 5 days- pills and liquids diets are my friends.
My skin is soft and supple.
I am the victim-- when am I the hero?
I am the comedian-- or am the butt of your jokes?
I am a lover-- or am I just a whore?
I am straight, I am white.
When am I a woman? womyn?
When am I African, Asian...?
When am I short?
When am I fat?
When am I using a wheelchair?
When am I my age?
When am I human?
When am I me?
I saw myself on TV today.
