In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
As we all know the 40th President of the United States slipped the surly bonds of earth to touch the face of God Saturday June 5th. So feel free to post your pics, stories, etc. about the Gipper.
Today's word is one of many that could be chosen in his honor.
.
intrepid \ (n-trpd) \ adjective
intrepidity or intrepidness \ nouns
intrepidly \ adverb.
Deinition: Resolutely courageous; fearless.
Etymology [Latin intrepidus : in-, not; trepidus, alarmed.]
My example: President Reagan in all of his intrepidness said "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!" A few short years later the Berlin Wall was torn down. This memorable line would have never been uttered if President Reagan had listened to his advisors. His uncommon courage caused great things to happen. This courage was a natural extension of his faith in the American people and the Almighty. And to me that is the Reagan legacy.
no, this is a tote. but the last thing i got a few months back or so, was a very cute striped makeup bag.
LOL!!!! I probably won't have pizza again for months............
And now I am off to make my date with the pillow that is calling my name.......hasta la manana!!!!!!!
Have I missed something somewhere? What "spooks"?
Thank you! Tonight's was a nice, cool healthy summer dinner-however, if I'd have known it was going to get down to 63 and breezy with rain, I'd have thawed out some chili instead and made cornbread...
The spooks that have inhabited this property since it was part of a huge ranch over 100 years ago-they were already here when we built this house...
I kind of liked David Niven when I was a kid...
I've got to get rid of a lot of shoes, too-some of them I haven't worn in over 5 years-I really don't need to have an Imelda Marcos starter kit...
OK - one more reply..........I've been reading over on the other message board - the one where my Canadian stalker keeps posting about me......it's actually funny in a pathetic sort of way. But there seems to be another FReeper, or at least a lurker, on that message board who pinned him on his latest FR persona attempt and made mention of his demise (again) over there!!!
Hubby called me Imelda for years whenever the subject of shoes came up - but he did it jokingly because I only own 3 pairs of shoes that cost more than $15 or $20........I'm hard on shoes so I always bought inexpensive ones and had lots of them....that way I didn't wear one pair too often.
I do have to break down and get myself a new pair of black dress pumps - but I can't stand the heel styles I find in the stores anymore. And I refuse to pay $50+ for a pair of shoes that I will need on a regular basis.
I think I'll cull thrugh what I've got and invest in a bunch of black shoe police and change the color of the ones I've got.
We need a new one tomorrow? If so I need to know soon.
Sure!
Doors open again at (more or less) 7:30 EST. First one with a roll call list, please post it.

No comparison!!!
My sisters were big Rock Hudson fans when we were young. I always said something was wrong with him. It freaks them out now!
You and dubya are such kids. Eisenhower was the first President I supported in 1956. Nixon was the first president I campaigned for in 1960 and 1968 and voted for in 1972. I would have voted for him in 1968 but the voting age hadn't been lowered in '68.
Yup my first presidental vote was BobDole, I missed 92 by 11 months.
I was a huge Reagan fan as a young child, in a house full of (at the time) apolitical Democrats. Iran-Contra pushed me to the right as I was and still am convinced that the Sandanista loving Senate Democrats were and are traitors and should be treated as such.
Reason I am asking is in 1972 I lived in Laguna Beach with my two older sisters. We lived up on a hill. The view was fabulous. You could see all the way to Dana Point to the southwest and all the way to Corona del Mar to the northwest. We had a poltergeist and a ghost.
Never had anything like that happen to me again. It would have been a perfect spot for an old sailor for a lookout. And he looked like an old sailor. The poltergeist was just a naughty little thing. He would hide things on us. Weird.
I voted for Nixon in 1972, also. I've never voted for a dem. Maybe something is wrong with me.
I love the ghost stories. I've never encountered one but if I do I'll say "you behave or else I'll fill a Super Soaker with Holy Water and get medievial on your a$$"
I'll take over a few days when you break down, okay? LOL! I have a couple of words I've been saving up for a time such as this.
