I know that Fantasia is the best, but, honest goodness, Hildy, she was interviewed on the local TV station last night and I haven't heard grammar like that since basketball season. UGH. Quite embarassing. She must have said "ain't" 50 times!

I know what you mean, but I was referring more to the age difference, as well as the difference in maturity and life experiences. For example, I don't like Fantasia's interpretation of "Summertime," one of my all-time favorite songs. But she is able to give it a level of depth and heart that would be difficult for a still bubbly, giggly 16-year-old to pull off. That's my point. Expereince is the difference in them, to me. Not talent. If anything, I think Diana's natural talent is bigger than Fantasia's.

My sister got to meet him and I'm so jealous. I'm jealous too. I'm glad your sister thought he was nice. I'd hate to find out that the guy I thought was so sweet was a phony.

I disagree. They have different styles but both are talented. However, you seem to be talking style over substance and Fanasia ain't no Aretha. I see Fanasia as a really good live performer who appeals to a limited market. Diana on the other had is much more versatile and has a much broader appeal.

Well, now I understand why Tamyra didn't win - what a way to slaughter the National Anthem. And, Kelly is still the best singer of the whole group. Sorry to see Ruben has gained even more weight.

You can walk into any city, any amusement park and see someone like Diana. I'm not saying she's not good. I'm saying she's not unique. She sounds like a zillion other singers.
