Today, March 20, 2004, a global march against the war and occupation of Iraq continues. I should say global except for in Iraq. I can't confirm it's not going on there, I just haven't heard or read about it. I'm just guessing but I think they are going to sleep after a day of not living in fear.
The fear of being tortured. The fear of being forced to watch as your wife or daughter or sister or mother or any combination of the above. The fear of having your tongue cut out for complaining or telling a Saddam joke.
9 days prior to these protests, a terrorist attack in Madrid left 202 people (and counting) and another 1500 injured. I must have missed the coverage of the global march against terrorism.
Are the protesters concerned about terrorist attacks against them? Hundreds of thousands of people gathered in public squares around the world, what an excellent target! World-wide coverage already set in place for immediate beaming to an audience of billions.
The terrorists won't attack the protesters because the protesters are allies of the terrorists.
As for the march, I can only write of what I saw here in Lansing. There was a bigger gathering a few years back in support of legalizing ownership of wolves as pets. Just a bunch of hippies and some real, honest to goodness freaks, that's about all I saw today.
