I called my mother and PE on the way home. We are plannign a trip back there w/out elf-boy so we can shop for his birthday and Christmas now instead of later. These toys aren't on sale at the other stores. I know how much he likes Toys R US, but if KB's has it.... that's where we are gettin it.

Rosie, my old boom box had that problem. I got a couple strips of stick-on Velcro, and it solved the problem until I could afford a new one.

Don't blame ya at all. I would go... but it's still a long drive up to Lawton. Almost an hour. I have a ministry meeting in Carrollton Friday night. May have to come early and go to the toystore there. :-)

Shepherd's Pie. It was vey yummy. I substitued ground turkey for the beef, and added carrots, peas, and corn for the veggies. A bit of Cabernet Savignon added for flavor didn't hurt either :-) We have left overs, but it was a hard decision for us to not go back and eat the rest of it.

Hm...that MIGHT work. It's spring loaded...so I'm not sure the Velcro would be strong enough, but maybe! Where did you put the velcro?

I know I sound ancient, and in computer terms, I am. But I'm still enthused about everything non-MAC. As far as MACs are concerned, it's like the British driving on the lefthand side of the road. You can do it, but what's it supposed to accomplish?

Right on the edge - a strip extending out straight from the lid, locking down onto a strip at the edge of the lid. Try two seperate pieces of Velcro - it's strong stuff!

Picture your grandchildren walking you through how to connect your biointerface neural transfer brain-loaded synapseware that they bought you for your birthday, only because you hadn't bothered to join the InterneuralNet yet... "No, gramma... you have to *think* it up into the interface before you can crossconnect..."

My gramma lived the first forty years of her life without electrical power. Telephones were "newfangled" contraptions as far as she was concerned. Computers where just never going to be part of her life. Just not happening.

But the bonus for her was that when the power went out at her house, it was about as inconvenient as having the cable go out on the TV. She could cook a mean breakfast on the woodstove. :-)

Otherwise, give me a pc. Heck, I'd take a *nix system over a Mac. But I prefer Windows. Of course, my company's software only works on windows boxen, so... heck, it was hard enough making our product Netscape compatible, and all our customers seem to be Windows people...

Sigh... I know, I know. And I was patient with her and didn't actually make choking noises. But it was really frustrating, because she's an intelligent woman and has used a computer for years, in certain cases.

Thinking about it, she's been using a glorified typewriter for years. But we've all walked her through this basic stuff before and she should at least know the difference between Yahoo and wherever the heck she was trying to log in...

Besides, I'll be one of the first people to get a biointerface. I can't wait to upload my mind. Er... well, then again there are always virus writers...
