You know it... that's what I detest most about the East coast. (Sorry bout that all ya eastern hobbits...) It's like they don't even *notice* tolls out there. They're totally conditioned to them now and they don't notice.

Somehow it has to occur to people that it is merely a device to fund local corruption with a ready supply of utterly untraceable cash.

Ugh, I hated that cartoon. Not that I liked many cartoons. Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, and Angry Beavers were about it.

Unless we're talking Japanese cartoons, of course...

I liked Earthworm Jim. Only saw half a dozen episodes, though, sadly. I did manage to purchase a few of them on video awhile back, but my siblings borrowed them and lent them out and I haven't seen 'em since. *snif*

I don't think we have ANY toll roads in Vermont. They're all over in Southern NH, though. I hates 'em. For one thing (and I know this is sad) I don't really have much depth perception (part of the reason heavy traffic freaks me out) and I have a really hard time getting the coins in those little things unless I get so close my tires rub.

But I've only had to drive down that way once or twice in the last few years, so most of the time I don't have to deal with 'em. Yay!

Yeah, I liked it. Very neat SF ideas. I still say LotR is better, though :)

On cartoons, I like Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain, too. Never seen Angry Beavers. Best Japanese cartoons ever were Speed Racer and Battle of the Planets.

but the plan is to tear out the plaster and ferring strips upstairs (including the ceiling), bringing everything down to bare studs, then insulate and drywall. That ought to help some of the sag & warp that we have upstairs.

That insulation will help a LOT! We're going to double insulate the exterior walls on the addition. SSQ's gonna use 2x6 studs with batt insulation between them. Then he's gonna put 2x3s horizontally on the studs and put strips of insulation between those. I've never seen it done that way, but we'll end up with 9" thick walls that will make the place VEY cozy!

He's still thinking of having someone else float out and sand the drywall or do a skimcoat. Some friends remodeled their family room last year and had the skimcoating done. The walls are just gorgeous! We could do the regular drywall thing, but it's a pain in the behind! He can install the stuff, no problem, but I hate having to do all the sanding between coats of joint compound.

And then there are the serious ones. I'm still haunted by "Grave of the Fireflies". Holy cow, what a downer of a movie!

I was sniffling by the end of that. Odd to cry over a cartoon, I guess...but it's not exactly a cartoon in the usual sense.

I'm getting more and more disgusted with the emergence of "toll roads" in Texas cities. It's like - they forgot how to be Texan anymore. That stuff don't go with this place. And I don't like it one little bit!

hehehe... but it is Texas, and I do know how to go around the ones here.

I liked Nausicaa of the Valley of the Winds much, much better.

I'm up to about the nineteenth episode? Somewhere around there. Depressing episode. She's in prison and her mom just died...apparently, anyway. I'm hoping it isn't true, but considering that they haven't been shy about killing off other main characters, I'm not altogether hopeful.

Er... yeah, they sure kill people off like mad.. heh... It improves in fairly short order.
