President Bush traveled to New York today to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony for the Nassau County 9/11 Memorial in Eisenhower Park, Long Island, being built in memory of the 281 residents of Nassau County who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks, and visited with families of the victims. Before he left, he made a statement to the press regarding the terrorist attack in Madrid, Spain.

He also visited USA Industries, an automotive parts manufacturing company in Bay Shore, New York, and spoke to workers about the economy and jobs training. He then attended a fund raiser with Rudy Giuliani and Governor Pataki.

There are lots of fabulous pictures today, so enjoy your trip to Sanity Island on the Daily Dose !!

I'm the quiet one on this thread.

Your post has cut me to the core. I just read your post to my Hubby. He's not even a lurker. He just hears my constant ramblings about FreeRepublic.

He paused for a moment and said, Bless you both. My prayers are with Mike and you.

**I will know a lot more tomorrow...he's gonna try and make them take it off there...he don't need no stinking plastic surgery...it is a simple procedure and will require stitches...**

Sometimes a surgeon will have to go deeper than planned in order to extract all the cancer. That's probably why they'd want a plastic surgeon present, rather than leaving a crater size depression.

That's probably true....Mike isn't vain enough to ask for a plastic surgeon...he's just worried it will take him out of theater too long...he's gonna tell them tomorrow that he's a Co 1sgt and he doesn't have time for this....like they'll listen to him...LOL

I think one of the reporters said they were sure there were going to be protestors there.

Mike is going to be fine, although I can understand your concern, especially not being w/him. A member of my family had the same kind of cancer on her nose. Doctors removed it, and she has had no further growth.

Read my tag line and you will understand why I am glad to see those wrinkles on President Bush's forehead........proof that he has not had botox treatments. LOL

I was there today to support President Bush. Happy to report, the supporters out numbered the demonstrators by a huge number. I asked 2 people who heard President Bush speak how it went. Both said the same thing: "He's a great man"

Plus, they're rather endearing. They only make him look cuter :)
