“the five stores will cost about $167M over ten years, and the discounted baskets will reach roughly 12,000 households. Spent in other, simpler ways, the same money could deliver discounted food to between 70,000 and 180,000 households”

Because Cloward-Piven.
Is this a trick question?
Because it’s not about helping poor people buy groceries?
(eyes roll)
Communism was never designed to be ‘efficient’ - except, as history as shown, efficient at killing people en masse.
Other and simpler means without corruption.
To the left the welfare system needs infrastructure, administration buildings, infrastructure in the communities, it needs a physical and permanent presence, even artwork and museums, it isn’t just about corruption and employment bloating and unionized government workers, it needs to be a part of the fabric of everyday life for the public, even for their families and children.
Poor people already get SNAP. There is absolutely no reason for these 5 stores for how many million people??
Power / Control.
Poor people already get free money for food (that they don’t need judging by how fat they are)
Efficiency is not on the table
These people are emotional thinkers. The want stuff he’s givin it to em
G.R.I.F.T
Nailed it.
To be offset by house bill AR15
Because in their view private property, private businesses need to be destroyed. That’s why.
Secret - Mammydammi doesn’t give a damn about poor people.
He doesn’t care how much it costs the taxpayers. When a store fails, he’ll just take some more money from the productive people and pretend that his store is doing well.
Whether the stores even open is a mere detail, let alone "economic efficiency".
All of the above, plus for the limo liberals and politicians, it makes them “feel good” that they have “made a difference”, and the poor, jealous dems that they have “stuck it to the man” and gotten free stuff from “the rich”.
It’s Hugo Chavez method spend as much money as possible but make sure you help no one ,LOL
Trickle down entitlements are all about the left skimming money into their pockets..
