The actual name of the committee was the House Committee on Un-American Activities. Lefties referred to as The House Un-American Activities Committee to make it sound like the committee’s activities were the ones that were un-American. Radio talk show host George Putnam, who actually lived through and reported on that era, used to stress that back on his radio show on KIEV in Los Angeles.

This Congress will not do it because this Congress has many anti-American members who have been successfully indoctrinated to oppose every bill meant to ensure the safety and well-being of our country and all of its productive and law-abiding citizens. And that body of lawmakers could become even more radically anti-American following the mid-term elections.
The problems: first, in their knee-jerk compulsion to show they are fair and even handed, the Republicans would come after some conservatives just to show they are not “biased” against leftists; and second, the instant the democrats regain power in DC, it would be lawfare on steriods against anyone who ever supported Trump. Mark my words.
