NYC spends $81,000/yr per homeless person.
Each NYC taxpayer owes $61,700 towards unfunded pensions.
Yikes.
Oh my, more great advertising for Democrats and their limousine socialism.
He can in the first instance, cancel all of his desired spending programs like free buses, city run groceries and freeze on rental properties.
But he won’t. His only other option is a state and federal government bailout or go into more debt, or risk more tax payers fleeing the city by increasing taxes.
I can’t see any other option.

Mamdani is going to try to raise taxes and fees of all sorts. As you noted, that will cause taxpayers who can flee, to flee.
But here’s one thing about socialists. They never consider the long-term effects of their destructive ideas. It’s always full speed ahead, right off the cliff.

Now he can declare imminent domain, or the like, to appropriate properties making the city the owner. All part of the scheme to communism
The state hasn’t got the money.
And at least one Upstate major metro is also demanding a bailout.
But it will be federal.
And if a Deep State controlled Congress overrides the president’s veto, NYS will be the first, but it won’t be the last.
This is what it looks like when you run out of other people’s money.
King should say: “I would consider your proposal except for the fact we are now standing on stolen land. No deal is legal here.”
