Religious prohibitions on food are about the dumbest things religions do, and that goes for Judaism, too. There may have been health reasons for them originally, but now they’re just silly. I know there are Jews who aren’t so strict about pork, but almost all Muslims still freak out about it.

Similar incidents have occurred in the Minneapolis/St Paul area. A non Muslim is called to the check out land to assist a Muslim worker when any pork product is scanned and moved to be bagged.
