Homeowner Uses AR-15 to Defend Against Black Bear in Home – VIDEO
On August 20, 2025, Mrgunsngear posted a video on X. The video appears to show a homeowner moving downstairs with an AR-15 with a weapon light. The homeowner moves away from the camera, wearing only shorts. He goes through two doorways and nears the far wall. At this point, looking through the doorways, a bear appears to be moving toward him from the left to the right.
The homeowner fires seven quick shots, and the bear drops. After the video, an image of a dead bear inside a house is posted. While bear attacks inside homes are not common, they appear to be increasing with increasing bear populations. In 2024, a woman in California was killed in her home by a black bear. In May of 2025, a man in Florida was dragged from his home and killed by a black bear.
The home defender was not allowed to keep the bear. In his location, bears shot in self-defense belong to Parks and Wildlife. The bear was able to enter the house through a second-story window.

Cue the “Nobody needs an AR-15” leftists. This guy did.
Bear was too smart for its own good. And, jeez, keep the firearm next to the bed.
Since he already made a mess on the floor, he should have just butchered the bear right there, and made himself a nice bearskin rug too. If the bear had a tracking collar, he can just go get a helium balloon at the store and take it for a ride. No one needs to know he shot the bear, and then no one will ask any questions.

I’ve heard of “2nd-Story Men” who specialize in burglaring upper floors but a bear? Gonna have to keep the honey in a safe, I guess.

I’m not quite sure how the bear opened the window. Pushed it up, or out? Anyway, consider using a nail (or something similar) to keep a bear from pushing up an open window.
You might not have bears in your area. But burglars, maybe.

Confusing attacks on humans and attacks on animals is pretty weird. Black folks tend to mock white folks who go up against large animals. They seem to know better. But the Yogi and Boo Boo memes are about crowds of people acting like animals themselves, and attacking other humans.
