change it within this session?
Is your password saved on the machine you are currently using?
Change your password from the computer you are currently logged in on.
I mean you came to the right place!
Are you logged on? š
I tell everyone to write down their passwords somewhere, for some reason, since the public started buying computers, they have almost all thought that the CIA or some ‘they’ would sneak into all of our houses for our secret password list.
A piece of paper is easy to reasonably hide.
Have you ever logged in on your cell phone? It might be in password manager if so.
Getting a new laptop or a new phone can feel as though you are moving into a new house and different neighborhood.
Pluses and minuses to the move. I only change “Horses” when the one I’m riding becomes so malfunctioning, that dollar wise, it’s better to just put in down for good and move on
Did you try: 1234567 ?
Of course you always run the risk of forgetting where you hid the piece of paper with that password on it too. š¤£
Mine is “Password 123”. I can heartily recommend it. It’s never let me down. You can use it too, I don’t mind.
In a notebook so when you keel over, your kin can let the FR world know you are no longer able to FReep.
In another note, my last corp job required multiple passwords to enter systems. They were so big on security, that they wanted everyone to store these passwords on the corp phone.
I always use āinvalidā as my password. That way whatever I type in the answer is always, āyour password is invalidā ;^)
More likely 8675309.
You may have used one that could never be guessed.

Banks of super computers would never guess that one
You must be logged in, in order to post. ?? Maybe go to the donations page, and in the comments section, after your generous pledge, ask them to contact you about your password.
FWIW, I’ve been on FR so long that my password incorporates the name of my first wife, who left me 24 years ago to become a single, leftist cat woman in Delco PA. I guess a hacker could figure it out, but all it would take is one reasonable message for the whole FReeper community to know I’d been hacked.
Can you look it up on your old machine? If not, just choose “change (or forgot) your password” at FR login. No big deal.
