In a jaw-dropping move late Monday, House Republicans once again slammed the door shut on transparency, voting 7‑5 in the Rules Committee to block Rep. Ro Khanna’s amendment that would have forced Attorney General Pam Bondi and the Department of Justice to publish all Epstein‑related files publicly.

Wow this is so interesting. When dems were in power they blocked it. Now the GOP is in power and they blocked it.
I thought the Democrats were opposed to releasing the Epstein files. Why have they had such a change of heart on this?

I’m contra on this issue. There is no way that ALL Epstein files should be released. People who are encouraging such a release obviously have no familiarity with law enforcement investigations or they don’t give a flip about injuring innocent witnesses/victims. There were probably hundreds of people who were interviewed, and likely 99% of these individuals are innocent or were victims. I do believe that more information CAN be released without doing collateral damage, but his has to be done carefully. They should start with the interview with Alex Acosta.

It is causing trouble for Trump and supposed flip-flops on it. That is why the Democrats are “for” transparency now.
Same thing here. Trump's intransigence on the Epstein files are going to compel Democrats to force their release out of pure spite.

Trump may have a very good reason for not releasing, like the ones you stated. He should not have had that retard do nothing Blondi as the front person.
Of course they should block it. The hypocrats had plenty of opportunity to release these files during the Biden administration, but didn’t. They are just pushing this now to try getting a ‘win’ against Trump. If these files are to be released it should be by the Trump administration, with zero hypocrat involvement.
Well said. Note this is in the Rules Committee and the SOTH can always outvote and take the matter to the floor. It is characterized as an amendment by Khanna - what was the underlying bill? Perhaps that is what garnered the negative reception. GOP refusing to change the underlying bill?
Lara Trump announced on Monday afternoon that all would be released, where proper and possible, soon. Seems like a dog without a fight.
