Here we will expose the shooter on the roof of the Dallas County Records Building. This was the Headquarters of the Dallas County Sheriff's Office, and controlled by Law Enforcement.

I can’t see it.
Twas a Mafia hitman outta Chitown. Why was the Mafia involved? Couldn’t tell ya, anyone I could ask now that I’m older, has already departed this earthly paradise.
Problem is, contrary to popular belief, it isn’t difficult to learn how to shoot a rifle. “Beware the man with only one gun, for you may be sure he knows how to shoot it. A buddy of mine found an old rifle in a dumpster when he was a kid, a POS, bent barrel etc. He was a crack shot with that thing.
Oswald was graduated from the United States Marine Corps in 1957. They taught them how to shoot in those days. All of the armed services take thousands of recruits, many of whom have never fired a gun in their life, and within a few hours have them knocking down man sized targets at 600 meters. I’m not arguing they are great shots but they are putting them right in there. He took the time to zero the Carcano, that much is known, and the witness accounts suggest the limousine slowed to a crawl or even stopped in the road at one point.
Yeah, I’ve read the particulars of the Oswald set-up. I’m really not 100% convinced that he fired a single shot.
That said, low magnification...3-4x on a hunting rifle, is no impediment to rapid short-range target acquisition. Low-power variable optics are used in CQB. If you know your weapon, and have it set up properly, (eye relief) you’re good to go. It’s just a ghost ring with crosshairs. The 18 mm objective is very limiting, I agree.
He bought his weapons under an assumed name, Alex Hiddel. Bought through Klein’s sporting goods, Shipped by US Mail to a PO Box. Things were different back then, and you’d have to drill down why he thought that was necessary,
Watch both videos.
M1 Garands were sold in very limited quantities (less than 5,000 from 1958-1967) and were sold only through the Director of Civilian Marksmanship program.
While you could buy practically any military surplus firearm (up through a 20mm semi auto cannon) through mail order. I read that the Carcano that Oswald used cost less than $20 and that he practiced often with it.
The best deal I ever got on an M1 was way back in 2000. I paid $320 for it just before the price went up to $400. I’ve seen Service grade M1s sell in gun shops for $1700.
P.S. I just remembered that in 2004 the CMP was selling rack grade Greek return rifles for $295. A new barrel and you are set.
OK. That’s more than I knew about Oswald’s Carcano.
They didn’t do background checks back then, there was no NICs program, so I don’t know why he would have had to buy a gun with an assumed name other than his being stupid and paranoid.
The fact remains that Garands weren’t expensive and that was all I was taking issue with.
I found a milsurp forum post where a guy talked about him and his father going to a DCM shoot in 1968 and qualifying to buy two Garands (I guess there were requirements prior to 1978). They paid $90 dollars for the two rifles. Said he still had the paperwork.
Then why did he flee? Why did he shoot the policeman? Why did he try to hide by entering a movie theater without buying a ticket?
I didn’t say this was fact portrayed on film.
“My job is to inform, not convince.”
DAY EIGHT REFLECTION
St. Bernadette, at the young age of 14, had people questioning her regularly about the apparitions. She stated what
happened over-and-over again, as they tried to confuse and trick her into speaking inconsistently. In response, she said,
“My job is to inform, not convince.” St. Bernadette always spoke the Truth simply and with conviction.
Then why did he flee?
He realized he’d been set up!
Why did he shoot the policeman?
He didn’t. That was Jack Ruby and an Oswald lookalike. Witnesses who saw JD Tippit gunned down were threatened.

Why did he try to hide by entering a movie theater without buying a ticket?
He wasn’t trying to hide. He was going to meet a contact.
“be a SS agent providing security?”
.
Countersniper?
No, but the film is so riddled with bs that nobody should referring to it as if it had any credibility.
Because he was broke and Italian rifle was cheaper. It came with a scope. A trained shooter knew you don’t take your eye off the scope while you work the action. You don’t need to reaquire the target for each shot.
it can shoot accurately at the 80 yards Oswald was shooting from.
Ah yes, the invisible shooters that no one could see.
If you really look at the evidence you know without a doubt Oswald was the shooter. Now whether he was a CIA asset is another question.
