Full list of DC plane crash victims: All the people confirmed dead in Washington’s Reagan Airport tragedy
Looking more like suicide/terrorism?
Third item down: nefarious action. Yep, we’re going to be seeing a lot of that now.
They have cars that veer for you if they are gonna hit you and they sense all the cars around you!!
There’s nothing for jets or helicopters that detect something as far away as would be needed to still avoid a collision.or the jet or helicopter just takes over and moves?
I thought there would be
Odd that they would be using NVG in such a commercial-congested area.
The chances of a chopper deliberately colliding with an aircraft do not seem very high to me, when both are moving and one is moving at hundreds of miles per hour. It would be like trying to hit a bumblebee with a BB-gun.
Occam’s Razor says it was an accident. A stupid, completely avoidable accident, but an accident none-the-less.
I don’t have enough time to point out all the times the guy in that video says something stupid.
After seeing the video online and listening to the radio chatter, It looks like the fault of the chopper pilot. They verbally accepted responsibility to maintain visual separation. More than once, the controller verifies with the chopper pilot that they have the plane in sight. But, they could have been looking at the plane following the doomed flight.
Here is where I split hairs regarding fault. Yeah, the chopper pilot accepted responsibility to maintain visual separation. But, since the controller saw something wasn’t right, they could have given the plane evasive maneuver instructions. A similar situation happened to me several years ago coming into Corpus Christi. The controller gave me immediate instructions to “immediately descend 1000 feet at best speed” to avoid an incoming military helicopter (no less) that would not respond to radio calls from the tower.
Three months ago, Lockheed bragged that could remotely control Black Hawk helicopters with an iPad.
I’ll put my money on pilot suicide and homicide.
This has all of the markings of a woke Rainbow Warrior killing him/her/itself and others in protest of the end of trannies in the U.S. military.
The idiot ordering night vision training near a busy airport needs to be court martialed and busted down to private.

There were ONLY THREE on the helicopter when they should have had FOUR!
Human error.
Helo pilots confirmed visual on a different aircraft and never even saw the aircraft they collided with.
I realize this isn't satisfactory to the conspiracy nutcases inhabiting these threads but this is my guess.
Not a pilot but I do have 21+ years in Naval Aviation maintenance and have been privy to more than a few Class A mishap reports.
Dumb. According to a comment on GP, the “return to base” instruction to another helicopter occurred AFTER the collision. Typical GP.
This guy doesn’t know what he is talking about. The helicopter HAD TO drop altitude because the maximum altitude allowed for helicopters in the area of the crash was 300ft. Now they were still 100ft higher than they should have been (400ft). Had they been at 300ft like they were supposed to be.... no collision.
