Being a native Californian with great love for the state, I’ve been wanting to weigh in on the heartbreaking Los Angeles fire tragedy since almost the beginning, but at first I didn’t know what to say. Yesterday I worked on a video that highlighted an excellent post titled Why Los Angeles Is Burning.
I never did get the video out (multiple issues), and at some point a number of videos were out there essentially dealing with the same points, so I let the project alone.
The above article stands by itself, and brings up some eye-opening facts about how political failures contributed mightily to the ongoing apocalyptic destruction we are witnessing. This in itself is finally shocking many residents of Los Angeles of the Golden State–even some celebrities–-into acknowledging the harsh reality of the choices they’ve made for “leaders.”
I urge anyone who wants to change your future for the better to read and consider the article. Otherwise “Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.”
But that is not the biggest reason I am writing today. I was pondering what I might be able to say to the person who has perhaps lost everything. I don’t know what I or anyone can say. At a certain point, when we have lost everything except our LIVES and hopefully our loved ones, perhaps only then can some of us begin to truly appreciate the life that God has given us. Surely it has worth far beyond our material possessions...

Two words: commie demonrats.
Sorry to inform you, but in the ‘92 LA riots, the biggest most deadly, costly riots in modern U.S. history didn’t get people in CA to change, these fires certainly won’t.
What happened after 1992 riots? It just became more leftist.
Just switch the narrative from “race” to “climate change”
“WHY The CALIFORNIA DREAM Became a NIGHTMARE”
because californians ...
Cuckafornians did it to themselves. They deserve it all.
When we desire to control the property of others, we set up the institutions capable of political corruption; i.e., capable of controlling everyone. That is the lure of power. That is the aegis of democracy. That is what destroys productive wealth.
From my coming book:
Just wait until the homeowners have to deal with the Kalifornia Koastal Kommies.
Susan Somers tried for yeeeears to get permits to rebuild her home. She eventually moved away.
“”didn’t get people in CA to change, these fires certainly won’t.””
Totally different scenario - the trial of the LAPD cops and verdicts resulting in the riots had nothing to do with legislation passed (uninsured/underinsured homeowners) or incompetent public figures in the L.A. hierarchy...Daryl Gates took much of the flak unnecessarily IMO...
42 Democrat Congressmen to 9 for Republicans. What are the chances of that?
Yep, read the steps Commies use to destroy a country. Seems some are following it!
“...but at first I didn’t know what to say...”
Say what were you thinking when you voted democrat?
“They deserve it all.”
As long as the inland and northern red counties and the remaining scattered republicans are safe, I’m good with it,
“Just switch the narrative from “race” to “climate change”
Global warming turned the hydrants off.
Watts riots, Rodney King riots, today’s inferno.. what won’t these democrats think of next?
Did the 6 million Californians who voted for Donald Trump in November "deserve it"?
Did Jim Robinson and his family "deserve it"?
This constant repetition of "they voted for it" is a disgrace. There are millions of American patriots who live in these areas where they are outvoted.
They are our countrymen and they deserve our concern and our protection.
It’s just another event regardless of the cause. Horrific fires in the region are nothing new. Btw, the LA riots make this event look moderately bad when comparing damage, cost and of course 63 or so lives lost.
If anything should have waken the people it would have happened back in 92. But it’s way worse now. My point. The former rioters and their supporters are now in control. It’s why so many have bailed out of state...
Btw, I met Gates boss once.☺
“”Horrific fires in the region are nothing new””
Another event and nothing new in that region? Can’t see the “rioters” then - in control now - as they were nothing but a bunch of bums...we got out but it was because of retirement and moving on after 50+ years...husband was a native and I was a transplant from upstate NY...
I disagree - nothing of this magnitude and never before in the L.A. area. The fire in Laguna Beach OC in 1993 was the closest thing in Southern CA to what is happening now in
L. A. County..and I guess now also Ventura County.
We lived on the other side of the 405 during the Laguna Beach fire and watched the fire come over the ridge and STOP at the fields that were planted alongside the freeway...the only thing that stopped the fire. We were considering whether or not we should prepare to evacuate. Hundreds of homes lost, tens of thousands of acres....THAT fire couldn’t compare with the Pacific Palisades and others - all tragic...
Who was Daryl Gates boss? Always like Gates...had his book at one time - great read - but donated a lot of my books as I can’t keep everything - as they say, you can’t take it with you.
“”This constant repetition of “they voted for it” is a disgrace.””
THANK YOU. I lost that argument a couple of nights ago - I was outnumbered by the “gleeful” FReepers of “celebrities” losing their homes because they deserved it - voted for it.
You are so right that the “they voted for it” is disgraceful and is really tiresome. According to those diehards, the majority WON because the liberals were voted in and the rest of us just didn’t mattter...I voted in many CA elections but never for dems. Was even called a liar by a FReeper when I said I lived and worked there for 50+ years and never met a democrat; asked me if I lived in a cave!! Decency is not a part of some FReeper’s makeup!!! Guess I just mingled with a better class of people than that FReeper!!
Wait until the LA lefty city crooks owned by developers force the residents
to live R2 or R3 housing .
Lots with multiple houses .
Pacific ghetto here we come .
