Star Trek: Deleted Scene - "The City On The Edge Of Forever" - "Kirk & Edith Have Fallen In Love." In this deleted scene from Star Trek (The Original Series - TOS), Sister Edith Keeler (Joan Collins) almost falls down the stairs by her apartment, when Captain Kirk catches her, and she breaks her heel, but this time, she continues to speak romantically to her young man, James T. Kirk (William Shatner), and she says to him how she has fallen in love with him. The two passionately kiss, as they talk about 'forever', and Kirk cryptically says if she only knew how far he's fallen ("through a wilderness of years...stars" - Time - and Space) through The Guardian Of Forever, but Kirk has also fallen in love with Edith Keeler. Many of you have probably never seen this deleted scene ever before. The romance and chemistry between William Shatner and Joan Collins is quite realistic. They are both amazing at Acting.

I like to think the Beginning and everything until the End were written at the split second God created this Universe - Alpha to Omega. Going back in time is not written in.
I’m just a rider on the train and hope to - but might never know - that I changed someone’s life.
His will is everything.
Sis is Susan.......
They need to remaster the episode with the deleted scene!!!!
I understand why they deleted it. Clunky dialogue. A show stopper, not the good kind.
Screen is blury.
Ping
Agreed.
I’m an old school Trekkie.
Never got into the newer ones.
However, it seemed like Kirk was falling in and out of love in about every episode. A very predictable plot
It was one of the best.
That would be great 👍
Jackie Collins (R.I.P.), the novelist was Joan’s sister.
Ah, the good 'ol days of strategic product placements.
Spock: "Doctor, I believe this Winston cigarette may be among your 20th century's finest achievements."
Bones: "You green-blooded goblin - you overlooked how most doctors recommend Winston over all other brands!"
Spock: "Fascinating. Did I tell you how I learned this game from one of your revered leaders of that time?"
He was so handsome when he was young in the original Star Trek series. I was only a little girl when it aired, but I still remember arguing with another girl over Captain Kirk. LOL
Too much in plot, detracts from the imagination. And later recall in the main plot, he truly reveals how he feels while with Spock and the machine, “bare knives and sheep skins” after she impromptu, enters their room, by surprise.

Yea, I remember that.
Ie....tbe dramatic moment:
“Spock, I believe I’m in love with Edith Keeler.”
“Jim, Edith Keeler must die”
The plot of that episode appears unrealistic to me.

How so? Be specific!
I’m thinking of the character of Americans in the 1920s and 1930s; in spite of the bad things FDR and his people did, the character of the people on the ground would not be swayed by a pacifist to the point where they would leave the NSDAP regime alone to develop atomic weapons that would annihilate humanity—it certainly presupposes no return of Jesus, making that event dependent on a human.
Good post!!
And now Paramount deletes Kirk entirely….
