Star Trek: Deleted Scene - "The City On The Edge Of Forever" - "Kirk & Edith Have Fallen In Love." In this deleted scene from Star Trek (The Original Series - TOS), Sister Edith Keeler (Joan Collins) almost falls down the stairs by her apartment, when Captain Kirk catches her, and she breaks her heel, but this time, she continues to speak romantically to her young man, James T. Kirk (William Shatner), and she says to him how she has fallen in love with him. The two passionately kiss, as they talk about 'forever', and Kirk cryptically says if she only knew how far he's fallen ("through a wilderness of years...stars" - Time - and Space) through The Guardian Of Forever, but Kirk has also fallen in love with Edith Keeler. Many of you have probably never seen this deleted scene ever before. The romance and chemistry between William Shatner and Joan Collins is quite realistic. They are both amazing at Acting.

You’re welcome!
ehhh, any openings in Star Fleet for a Star Ship Captain?
“No joke! Why did they? Excellent.”
Usually it’s to squeeze in an extra commercial or two.
Wow.
Thank you.
Heartbreaking episode, masterfully (but almost maniacally) written by Harlan Ellison, and re-written by Gene L Coon and D. C. Fontana.
Probably cut by the censors. It was 1966.
It’s an awkward scene with flimsy dialogue, which doesn’t show Collins enough. Glad they cut it. It is also more dramatic for her to mention almost breaking her neck and then immediately having Spock scold Kirk for having saved her, since she must die.
The lesson here is that making it with hot women on a regular basis will extend your life expectancy.
One of my favorite episodes.
I do remember seeing this scene way back then. It is why it was so poignant when Kirk had to grab Bones before Bones could save her.
For later.

Was Joan part of the Collins bloodline family?
Thus, after deranged McCoy leaps thru the time portal, we have: "Captain's log, no stardate. For us, time does not exist. McCoy, back somewhere in the past, has effected a change in the course of time. All Earth history has been changed. There is no starship Enterprise...."
Which is why God as an omniscient and omnipotent being, cannot be rationally or justly judged for His choices (not that I have not protested) by exceedingly finite and profoundly ignorant fallible man, since all God's actions are done in the light of all that can be known, including every motive, means, action and effects, and effects of effects, and the degrees ans scope of which, not only in the present and generations to come, but for eternity.
And who can thus make all to ultimately work out for what is Good, with both justice as well as mercy, relative to man's choices with what he did with the light given him, and The Light. And God will make all to work out for the good of all those who choose the latter, which is Christ. Thanks be to God.
Sorry if you dislike my excursion.

Collins was born in Paddington, London on 23 May 1933, and brought up in Maida Vale, the daughter of Elsa Collins (née Bessant), a dance teacher, and Joseph William Collins, a talent agent (whose clients would later include Shirley Bassey, the Beatles and Tom Jones).
Collins’s younger sister was Jackie Collins, a bestselling English romance novelist, who died in September 2015. She wrote 32 novels, all of which appeared on The New York Times bestsellers list.
