I am a woman living alone near Philadelphia with a cat, so I guess you could call me a “childless cat lady.” I never wanted children, so I never had any. Since I have dedicated my life to helping other people, for many years I subscribed to all of the social justice causes. That began to change when the neighborhood I live in became a hotbed of crime and leftist intolerance.
Recently, I witnessed a woman throw a large object at a man’s car, break the passenger window, and then casually walk across the street. The man got out of his car and ran across the street to attack her. He wrestled her to the ground but eventually let her go, getting back into his car and driving off. She kept walking, talking on her cell phone the entire time.
I was standing on my front stoop on my way to take out the trash. I stood there, stunned with horror. The man saw me. I did not call the police because I recognized him. He lives in this neighborhood, where one can expect retaliation. It didn’t look like the woman called the police either. She just kept walking.
Yesterday I stopped by a cafe for a bagel. I began frequenting this this locally owned cafe after walking past it one Sunday morning and seeing that all its storefront windows had been smashed. I went in and asked if everyone was OK. Apparently the vandalism had occurred in the predawn hours of the morning. Nothing was stolen—just windows smashed.

I'm am sure she is one of many.
A long read but worth it.
Like most people, I just want to be safe. I want to live in a place where I can leave my apartment without fear that the man who saw me watch him attack a woman will come back and attack me. I want to live in a place where I’m not risking verbal violence for engaging in private phone conversations while taking a walk.I want there to be police who are here to protect me and other innocent citizens who just want to do our jobs, buy affordable food, and go to the YMCA in peace.
She should also arm herself. And move.
Ask Yogi. I’m sure BooBoo listens.
My wife is a childless cat lady.
It would be so very bad for someone to offend her in front of me.
Ya know, a life term in prison and such would keep me away from her.
She’s a conservative. Voted for Trump.
Begged me to wait online at 5am at the local Country Donuts to get her Trump donuts.
So I did.
And yes, I ate one :)
The demented and deranged congregate in cities. They have reached a high enough concentration to elect their own into power. America’s cities have become unlivable for decent, rational people who are not wealthy.
Smashed windows are a sign that you live in a Blue neighborhood. Get out while you can. Where I live, that gas bag would have eaten a bullet. Everybody has a gun.
“A few months ago, there was a meme on Facebook that showed a white woman saying, “I don’t feel safe in my neighborhood,” and a man answered her, “You literally voted for this.” I now understand that my situation resembles this cartoon.”
At least she finally came to the realization that she was part of the problem. Will it last?
For some it takes multiple muggings.
I thought to be a ‘’cat lady’’ implied that you had to have more than one. Like, a dozen or more and you live in a tiny house.
As they say: a conservative is a liberal who’s been mugged.
Been there. Done that. It’s true.
And now a comment from another Philadelphian, Mayor Frank Rizzo.
As a SJW, you helped cause the destruction of Law & Order that you now bemoan. But if that is what it takes to open your eyes, at least something positive occurred. Shame that you couldn’t see what you were causing before it came to this point though.
Is she a nun?!
I’m trying to think of where this could be. I don’t think Darby Borough has deteriorated to that level, but I haven’t been up that way in years. Yeadon? It’s been even longer since I’ve been there. We usually don’t tolerate that sort of thing in Delco. Maybe Chester? The East End was notorious for being a bad place even forty years ago.

Years ago I was in a waiting room along with an attractive lady. I was single at the time, so I struck up a conversation. It went well, and I was on the verge of asking her out for coffee.
Then the conversation turned to cats. “I like cats, and I have one,” I said truthfully. “I like cats too,” said the attractive lady. “I have eleven of them.”
Maybe I misjudged her solely on that statement. But I passed on asking her out.
I have a childless cat. It was her personal decision not to have kittens, and she should not be judged for that decision.
She menttioned being close to a major university. Temple? Penn? Villanova? Im not that familiar with Philly.
Eleven IS over compensating.
Most of the Ethiopian restaurants are in West Philly / Spruce Hill area.
Smart move....
Her voting helped create this mess and now that it finally affects her, she sees the light. Bet she still voted for Harris!
