Democrats in Connecticut have introduced legislation that would allow women to skip the physical ability test for becoming firefighters. Hamden Mayor Lauren Garrett said that "fewer than 15% of women are able to pass this test. Such discrimination is intolerable."
Leah DiNapoli, a retired New Haven firefighter, called the proposed law "absolutely insane. Pulling people out of burning buildings requires strength. Diminishing the standards for becoming a firefighter endangers the lives of both the general public and the weaker firefighters the lowered standards will recruit."
Garrett argued that "we're trying to balance two separate objectives here--saving lives and achieving greater equity. Since half the population is female, equity demands that half the firefighters be female. The only way we can accomplish this goal is by lowering the strength requirements for those we hire. I suppose there might be occasions where a weaker firefighter can't rescue a heavier victim, but this is a price I'm willing to pay for greater parity between the sexes among those we hire."
Meanwhile, President Biden urged that police be retrained "so as not to aim for center mass when returning fire from an armed assailant. If the suspect is killed the impact of the bail reform measures taken in various parts of the nation would be reduced. For the 'get-out-of-jail-free card' to work properly, the accused must be able to walk out of court and get back on the streets as soon as possible."

Democrats want you to pay for their policies with your life.
Something people leave out of these elite women that do squeeze into a firefighter job or military school is that they barely make it in, on their best day, in their best health, usually on special diets and with trainers and backers, even rule-bending, it is an artificial moment, and what do we get out of all that elite boosting? Someone near or at the bottom of capabilities, and that is them at their peak.
People this weak will get injured and rape the pension system as female GIs do, they will wear out extremely fast, and they will be transferred to the less physical jobs the 40 and 50-year-old men used to rise to.
A male firefighter is still good to go after a decade of chili dogs and beer, but the female who squeaks by will quickly lose that best-day fakery.
Why is it that when women or minorities are unable to meet standards that white men have met for generations, liberals insist on lowering the standards? Why not encourage minorities and women to work harder to prepare themselves and up their game whether it’s a mental or physical challenge? Is it that they don’t believe that ANY level of prep will be sufficient? Isn’t that racist/sexist.
When I was in the Air Force in the mid 1970s women were just starting to be assigned flight line duty. Two were assigned in the instrument shop where I worked.
One day one of the women was assigned to go out and remove the CADC (Central Air Data Computer) from one of the planes and bring it into the shop. She went out and 45 minutes later came back without the CADC.
She was asked, “What’s wrong?”.
She replied, “Nothing”.
“What do you mean nothing? Where’s the CADC”?
“Oh, it’s still on the airplane. I got it disconnected but I couldn’t lift it out of the plane because it’s too heavy.”
Sigh. So, we had to send one of the guys out to fetch it.
This is the state that made a rat stolen valor scumbag a US Senator AFTER it came out that he bragged about his service in Viet Nam when he was never even there.
If she can maintain control, she would have a more valid argument.

Because working or studying harder goes only so far - it doesn’t change genetics.
They want parity in representation for whatever group they’re pimping for. However, dimply reducing standards will not achieve that. They’ll have to ELIMINATE standards and just decree that any profession or membership will be strictly based on proportional representation.
This, of course, is insanity, but when have leftists ever let their insanity stand in the way of destroying a society?
