PALM BEACH, Fla. — Hundreds of guests in tuxedos of all styles — sequined, quilted, velvet — and colorful gowns sipped on Trump-branded champagne and martinis. Between courses of steak and bite-sized Key lime pie, they danced to “YMCA” and “Macho Man,” the disco anthems at Trump rallies.
Thursday night’s Log Cabin Republicans’ “Spirit of Lincoln” gala in the main ballroom of Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago beachfront club was a joyous celebration of gay rights and — in a case of ironic timing — the historic same-sex marriage law signed by President Joe Biden days earlier.
The long-planned event in honor of the conservative LGBTQ organization’s 45th anniversary brought in Republican notables like former Ambassador Ric Grenell, Rep. Kat Cammack (R-Fla.), former State Department spokesperson Morgan Ortagus, who emceed the evening in a feathered turquoise gown, and former GOP gubernatorial candidate from Arizona Kari Lake, who was swarmed by guests eager to meet her and take a photo.
But the main attraction, obviously, was Trump. He received a standing ovation after delivering an enthusiastic affirmation of gay rights not often heard in the GOP.
“We are fighting for the gay community, and we are fighting and fighting hard,” the former president and 2024 candidate said. “With the help of many of the people here tonight in recent years, our movement has taken incredible strides, the strides you’ve made here is incredible.”
Throughout the evening, speakers praised Trump for his embrace of the gay community. They credited him for his initiatives to combat the criminalization of homosexuality, his work pushing for public heath initiatives to combat the HIV

Do you REALLY think anyone is going to read your post? Skimming very lightly, I’d summarize it as: Trump was good for business.
He was. And lots of governors would be good for business too. But Trump SCREWED businesses too - with lockdowns, insane “stimulus checks” to everyone, COVID restrictions, etc.
Vastly better than Biden for the economy and foreign policy. Doesn’t make him better than a lot of Republicans who MIGHT run in the primary. We’ll know more by next summer. Trump may have knocked himself out of the race by then. He certainly is trying to take himself out....
...at the expense of everyone else.
I've been blessed many times over: 4 year Army ROTC scholarship, graduated with no student debt. 8 years active duty, split between Germany and Fort Bliss. Served during peacetime, 76-84.
However, if asked, I advise young people to stay away from the military. The chain of command now has the spine of invertebrates, I doubt I would have made 1st LT in today's Army. The Courtney Massengales running the Army have run off the Sam Damons...not that I was as good as Sam, but I took to heart the definition of leader: everything my unit does or FAILS TO DO is my responsibility, and mine alone.
When I got into a dustup with my Battery and Battalion Commanders, there was one man who stood up for me, my Group Commander, a Black Colonel.
“There isn’t much left of that old place.”
Most under 40, or maybe even 50, can’t imagine it. Growing up on military bases in the 60s, which was culturally the 40s, was a blessing I didn’t begin to appreciate until much older! I grieve for my grandkids. We had far less wealth but much richer lives! I’m sure you understand.

And almost all of it was negated in 2020 when Trump handed the country over to Dr. Fauci and then went on to lose his re-election.
Other than the judges, what really do we have to show for Trump's four years in office?
It's all been erased.
Ill t s iftis is new and shocking. It isn’t. Trump appointed Ric Grennel(who did a good job)
Ow throw tantrums
Your post sums up my thoughts on the matter perfectly.
Meh. You’ll vote for Trump over any dem
Your post needs to be a separate thread. It’s unreadable here due to its sheer length.
Oh noes. A divorced man. Please give us the ever faithful folks like Joe Biden
My Trump support meter will go way down if this is true.
Not in the primary.
You act as if any dem would do less. They won’t and they’ll ruin the country while they’re at it
Trump had the guts to do all that he did in his 4 years (more than any other Republican President ever)...He fought BOTH parties, or should I say the Uniparty, to accomplish what he did.
Yes, a lot of it was erased and how much fighting did the Republican party do try and STOP the erasure??? NONE!!!!!
By sitting on our asses, we DESERVE what we’ve got right now....
I really don’t think we would be in near as bad shape as we’re in if the Republican party had the balls that Trump has to FIGHT....
“Australian Pastor Steve Cioccolanti says there’s a direct connection between President Donald Trump and signs in the heavens that are referred to as “blood moons.”
He points out that Trump was born in 1946 during a blood moon. And the latest blood moon on Jan. 20-21, 2019, came at the midpoint of Trump’s first term in office. Then there was a ‘Super Blue Blood Moon’ Over Jerusalem the day after Trump’s first State of the Union Address. Coincidence? Cioccolanti says there’s a higher power at work.”
From CBN News.
Ahhhh...To Hell with it...I’m too damned old to worry about what’s coming, but the younger crowd is going to have to live with it unless they grow some guts!!!!!!!
Yup—we need a new political party—the WTF party.
;-)
We aren’t talking primary
