A group of Russian archaeologists and historians was invited to Mexico to examine the famous collection of El Toro artifacts.

Sure; they’d just love to make contact with a twisted human society that sacrifices its own species to demonic forces.
This whole topic gets weirder and weirder the deeper you dig into it.
Part of the wackiness is that a truly advanced civilization should be able to:
—Travel anywhere through space/time virtually instantly
—Use nanotechnology, artificial intelligence etal to create avatars instead of risking themselves when they visit “distant” places
So what they do need spacesuits for?

20 thousand falsified artifacts strains credibility.
It’s the fact that the spacesuit man is holding a mini-me that proves he is evil.

Even more grander "contact" happened when He walked among us as Jesus and died on the cross for our sins, including people who do human sacrifice like the tribes in Mexico did and like Democrat followers do today.
When the final "contact" happens, who will be rejected because He doesn't know you?
A high tech civilization should be able to create an avatar that does not need to “breathe” anything....

It was just an early representation of science fiction. If we all but an few Australian Aborigines died off from a pandemic and thousands of years from now a surviving copy of star wars was dug up by the race spawned by the Aborigines I guess they would assumed that was us?
