Clearly white people’s fault, definitely not democrats/leftists. I’m sure a few more highly-compensated “Diversity and Inclusion” specialists will fix it.
“It’s lost 120,000 students over the past 20 years, it has empty schools, ...”
That is why they (and NYC) won’t be busing their immigrants anywhere else; they need them to keep the schools open/lights on.
All cultures are equal.
Please show me what works in these socialist utopias

To paraphrase Jeff Foxworthy, “If you refer to the 8 th grade as “your senior year,” you might be a gangbanger.“
And yet... they still elect Democrats, so they must love what Democrats created for them!
only 11% of Black students and 17% of Hispanic students were reading on grade level in 2021.
because they AREN’T there to Teach, they’re there to INDOCTRINATE !!
Used to give my Freshmen students a reading comprehension test the first few days of a class starting which revolved around them having to read five paragraphs and then given five multiple choice questions. Within the last paragraph was contained a sentence that indicated: “If you have read and comprehended/understood what has been written, please just sing your name at top of test and return the test back to me.”
85-87% of the class, each and every semester for nearly 8 years that I taught those Freshman classes, consistently failed the test and would go on and answer the five multiple choice questions DESPITE what the next to last sentence in the last paragraph of a five paragraph read indicated.
That is the state of our K12 education system, and education system overall.
sing = sign*
Vote buying and corruption.
If a kid can’t read, that’s the parents’ fault. A middle school English teacher has your kid one hour a day, five days a week, for 270 days, in a room with 29 other kids. That means she can afford about 2 minutes individually at most each day (less if they’ve mainstreamed the special ed kids, because teachers spend most of their time dealing with that crap.) She can give him about 9 hours of undivided personal attention per year. Parents can give them that much a week, if they budget their time. But most of them don’t.
Maybe the dingoes ate their students.
“If a kid can’t read, that’s the parents’ fault.”

What if the parents can’t read?
Methinks its more like 1.1%. They are padding the numbers.
Chicago, what a wonderful place to sell ammo....
You mean parent or auntie.
Reading to their youngsters, instead of blasting music in their ears, might help.
Yes, definitely more social workers needed..
