Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov emphasized on Friday at a conference that it is not in Moscow's interest to have an open conflict with the United States or the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
Ryabkov expressed concerns over Russia's current relations with the two, stating that they are "near-zero levels." He shared that "America is incapable of negotiating in principle and, together with a number of NATO capitals, is directly pushing Kiev to transfer military operations to our territory, intending to fight to the last Ukrainian" so as to impose "a strategic defeat" on Russia.
He further underscored that Moscow is not threatening anyone with nuclear attacks, but is rather warning of risks of interfearance in its military operation in Ukraine. "The US deliberately lowers the nuclear threshold, creating a threat to the national security of Russia," Ryabkov stated.

It’s not meaningless when you are invading a country to protect people who have been severely persecuted "Severely persecuted' or just required to learn the language of the country they live in.

“ We just want Russia to stay inside it's own borders and quit trying to annex other countries.”
We don’t. Why should we expect them to?

So Putin's Foreign Ministry is walking back his saber rattling, and Biden's Department of State is walking back his saber rattling. Two mentally impaired world leaders with Nuclear Weapons at their command. Yeah, that'll end well. Well at least we don't have any mean tweets, and we're defending Ukraine's border (not so much our own).

I fall in the George Washington camp, who urged the American people to take advantage of their isolated position in the world, and to avoid attachments and entanglements in foreign affairs, especially those of Europe, which he argues have little or nothing to do with the interests of America.

I know Russia invaded Ukraine, but they also invaded Afghanistan and I don’t remember anyone back then pushing for war with Russia.
Who do you think gave the mujahadeen Stinger missles?

"Russia doesn't want open conflict with US, NATO" Of course Russia doesn't. Doesn't mean Putin won't do it, though.

Syria. We are building a military base there, stealing their oil, and they have asked us to leave.

Really? You may want to learn about the Mexican American war.
To: srmanuel
I am sure we won’t mind if Mexico joins BRICS and invites Russia to put nukes on the border.
This is about superpower “new world order” status, and it has been going on since the 70s.
