Kroger cannot keep your personal info safe

Why would you give any random person all this info ?

They can scan my ID with their eyes or they can restock the booze, along with a cart full of groceries.

“If anyone has a Kroger store near them, please let them know that this is not OK.”

Did YOU talk to the MANAGER?

If you can vote without a driver’s license you should be able to buy booze without a driver’s license.

In your state, is it 1) illegal for them to scan you ID or 2) not legally required for them to scan your ID?

If #1, then this is lawsuit opportunity. If #2, then you might be stuck having to find a friendlier store.

In any case, since black people are too stupid to get ID (according to our Leftist superiors), requesting ID is inherently racist. So you have additional grounds for lawsuit if you identify as black.

Can you demagnetize the magnetic strip?

One source says:

"a card can be demagnetized when close to other magnets or electric motors that use electromagnetic forces such as loudspeakers.

Inexpensive speakers with permanent magnets can also cause problems if near credit cards because their own magnetic field may affect the data on your card"

“not to be used for identification purposes”

Boy,that one went out the door fast!!!

Just like that female manager of Dairy Queen in Commerce City Colorado told me a couple years ago before she threw me out, “Masks are corporate policy. I don’t care about the constitution.”

The local grocery store asks for your birthday to put in the computer when you buy booze. I tell them 1/1/1899

Wawa was trying this in my area.
I called corporate and told them they do not need my name, address, height, eye color and donor status to sell me products requiring ID, they only needed to look at my ID to verify my age.
They first tried to tell me that information was not captured, but I responded that I have used license scanners and EVERYTHING is in that scan.
They seem to have backed off as they are no longer demanding to scan my license.

Ours in Florida does this already. I’m unsure if the info is kept or is used for verification. I’d imagine it’s to protect the store. If a 20 year old shows a fake ID, it doesn’t matter, the clerk can be fined or charged and the store is questioned if not worse. If people would have never used fake ID, this wouldn’t need to be an issue. Blame the criminals.

I have had a few places scan my drivers license, haven’t given it much thought. What exactly is on that encoding? And, yes, what are they doing with it?

Saturday night, the day after my 66th birthday, I was carded for an alcohol purchase at Wingers. WTF? I ordered a pint of Oktoberfest to go with my meal. That's my last visit to Wingers. Intrusive and the chicken was like mealy leather. I've never been carded in my lift for an alcohol purchase, so I can check that off my "bucket list".

While this is for Georgia, my state, you can find the relevant law at this site.

"My local Krogar grocery employee told me today that ID Scanning would become mandatory on 8/31 to buy alcohol"

I've looked at the "Krogar" map upthread and "Krogar" does not sell alcohol anywhere that is state-store mandated, ie, you can get it at the bodega cheaper and without flashing your ID. I would not be surprised, in fact, if that is why "Krogar" has never tried PA or further northeast.
