Less than 60 percent of America’s corn crop is in good or excellent condition, according to the latest Crop Progress report from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
As of Aug. 15, only 12 percent of America’s corn crop is in excellent condition; 45 percent in good condition; 27 percent in fair condition; 10 percent in poor condition; and six percent in very poor condition.
In the USDA’s Crop Progress report published on July 17, 13 percent of the crop was rated excellent, 48 percent good, 25 percent fair, eight percent poor and three percent very poor.
On June 19, still just 13 percent of the crop was rated excellent, but 57 percent of the crop was rated in good condition. Twenty-four percent of the crop was in fair condition. Five percent of the corn crop was rated poor and just one percent of the crop has been in very poor condition

In the parlance of the 1940’s corn farmers, this poor-yielding part of the crop would be called “tucket corn”.
It was explained to me at the time that tucket corn was only fit to be “tucked up your @$$”, as it had little value more than to be plowed under, not even worthy of being harvested for any purpose.
South Jersey here. Drove by some corn fields this morning, several were burning up on their stalks. We have had a half an inch of rain in the last 2 months. The tomato fields are even worse. They at least are picked before they are ripe but the taste is just not there.
Well, at least the Chinese crops are doing well. Oh…. wait.🙀🙀
Well stop using food as a fuel source for cryin’ out loud!!
It’s a total waste of corn to use it as a fuel additive.
Maybe they’ll put less corn In our soda and gasoline
This is not going to help the livestock situation...
And that is where most of the corn goes.
We are having a good year here in the Lake states so far.
And not pay farmers to grow fewer crops.
The buildout of the U.S. ethanol industry was based entirely on new production driven by GMOs and precision farming. That gave the U.S. an enormous built-in buffer in the event of a bad crop year. With the U.S., pre-Biden, surging as the world’s top oil and natural gas producer, that was a sweet spot in which to be. Now, of course, we have an administration focused on sabotaging U.S. energy production. That creates multiple vulnerabilities, but the problem is Biden and the EV cultists, not ethanol.
Ethanol.
Doom and gloom from Starvation News, the highly reputable source of everything food, but does not resemble the reality of the market and underlying supply and demand forces. Take a look at chart of corn futures. While, not at lows that were killing farmers, corn prices are essentially down this year, with a slight rebound recently.
Remember when we thought it was important to have a 3 year grain reserve?
Corn crops I’ve seen in WV, MD, PA, and OH look fantastic.
In Iowa, where the tall corn grows, crops look fantastic.
This Sounds like typical fear-porn to me.
Well then, let’s put more of it into gasoline.

Well, context is everything.... How does this compare to other years as assessed on August 19? The intonation is that this is a bad year... is it?
Texas looks pretty bad but we are not one of the major producers.
StarvationNews.com annual dinner: “Ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for attending our annual event. As you can see from the buffet, starvation hasn’t taken hold yet, but we are hopeful. God knows, some of us can stand to lose a few pounds (laughter). We expect hunger and starvation over the next couple of quarters, and sales should start to improve. Please stay confident that our publication will ride out the current food surplus and that hunger will set in for real during the third quarter. Now, let’s have dessert!” (Applause)
That drop should prompt the Biden administration to mandate more corn be burned as fuel. Wards off global warming.
