In an almost surreal way, writing about COVID-19 as a political commentator has become almost second nature. Two years ago, I would have laughed at the idea that we’d still be covering the virus, but here we are, still having it be part of our daily conversation.
That’s not by choice, of course. Instead, it’s because our leaders have insisted on tying the two areas of health and politics together so tightly. When a pandemic is constantly used to crush liberties and hand power to people with tyrannical leanings, that’s not a story that can be ignored.
In all the disinformation and obfuscation of the last several years from the government, though, no issue has been more abused than natural immunity. We’ve known since the beginning months of the pandemic that those who are previously infected gain lasting, durable immunity from the virus. Yet, the CDC, two presidential administrations, and the mainstream media have all steadfastly refused to acknowledge that reality.
Finally, that has changed.
Finally honesty by the CDC via The NY Times:
“Unvaccinated people with a history of Covid also had lower rates of infection and hospitalization than those protected by vaccines alone.
The data are consistent with trends observed in international studies, the researchers said.”

You don’t say? Welcome to the party the rest of us have been hosting for a year-and-a-half.
Some of us have been writing on natural immunity since the summer of 2020. We’ve charged ahead, amidst an onslaught of false “fact-checks” to present the data that clearly shows that those with a prior COVID infection are protected and likely don’t need to get vaccinated. In that time, we’ve been maligned as anti-science and called grandma killer, among other choice descriptors. Even after multiple studies emerged over the last year proving natural immunity was real and viable, the government and its media allies still pretended it didn’t exist.
And in the off chance you did get a member of those groups to admit the obvious, they’d usually respond with a non sequitur like “oh, so you are suggesting people purposely get COVID?” But no one was ever suggesting that. Rather, we were just pointing out that tens of millions of people had gotten COVID, not by choice, many before the vaccines even came out, and that to ignore their natural immunity is anti-science.
Still, as shocking and late as this admission is, it means nothing if the CDC doesn’t change its guidelines. Will they now include natural immunity in their push for things like “vaccine passports”? Or will they continue down the same, absolutist road where if you aren’t triple-vaxxed, you lose your rights? I think we can speculate with some confidence exactly how things will turn out. There will be no change in policy because the Biden administration will never let that happen. To do so would be to admit they’ve been wrong all along, and they can’t have that.
At this point with Omicron being the 98% prevalent variant and mild, for most people, it would be better to get Omicron and be done.
People were kicked off of social networking sites and had videos deleted if they said this last year.
I have lost confidence in the following institutions:
government
law enforcement
military
corporations
medical
many in church leadership
media (duh)
Your time will come with the constant inflammation caused by the 'spikes' clinging to every major organs, turning them into mush.
Your body may have to wait to be processed with the other CoVID 'jabbed' victims because you did such a great job decimating the ranks of the purebloods, there's too few people to bury you.
almost a year after the first jab, feeling as healthy as a race horse and just as energetic.
The nothing burger mRNA vaccine is no match for this DAILY treadmill plus 30 pulls on weight machine of 20kg. Well OK, I am still young at age 82.
I will have enjoyed 5 wonderful cruises since the China virus arrived. That would be IMPOSSIBLE without the nothing burger jabs. They insist on full vaccination card before allowing to board the ship. Life is short, I will burn 82 candles soon, and my target of 100 cruises can not tolerate refusals to board.
Before Delta became the predominant variant in June, case rates were higher among persons who survived a previous infection than persons who were vaccinated alone. By early October, persons who survived a previous infection had lower case rates than persons who were vaccinated alone. Across the entire study period, persons with vaccine- and infection-derived immunity had much lower rates of hospitalization compared with those in unvaccinated persons. These results suggest that vaccination protects against COVID-19 and related hospitalization and that surviving a previous infection protects against a reinfection. Importantly, infection-derived protection was greater after the highly transmissible Delta variant became predominant, coinciding with early declining of vaccine-induced immunity in many persons
I almost agree with you that the “vaccine” may not be very effective in “preventing” infection. But then no vaccine can “prevent” infection. Because no vaccine can build a virus proof filter in nose.
I got infected with smallpox 2 years after receiving vaccine. One of the best vaccines ever, the smallpox vaccine could not “prevent” infection. I inhaled a large load of virus during a 8 hour journey in a crowded train. But the vaccine did it’s job which is to create anti-bodies, and I recovered from smallpox which has mortality rate of 30%+.
Duh.
Thanks for the update CDC.
Nah.....more likely giddy over every man, woman and child having to be jabbed on these low level cruises....just to avoid cooking and cleaning....but, eating that rehashed carp, over and over, while stranded at sea, in a floating petri.
What could be more fun?
🙃
“Or are you one of those people who thinks that the State (backed by unaccountable bureaucrats) is more competent to make life-changing decisions for the entire populace?”
There’s no reasoning with entropy. Unaware that freedom comes from God, he insists that the vaccines gave him “freedom” — or so he said. Vaccines stole freedom from many, but they can’t give freedom.
“My wife and I took the “risk” and did not get the shot. We got covid. It was a miserable experience (for us), but we now have natural immunity, and do not regret our decision. We are happy!”
Ditto for my spouse and me. We understand that it’s possible to get it again, so will deal with that if/when it happens, and are counting on the natural immunity — a gift from God.
Psalm 91 is comforting.
I recall when my FIL and MIL were visiting potential retirement homes, and FIL was making fun of people on walkers, in wheelchairs. I told Hubby that he’d better watch what he says or he’ll find himself in that same situation. He did.
Your constant boasting is daring God to bring you down.
Proverbs 16:18-19 (KJV)
18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.
Yep. This is exactly what I’ve been thinking for the past month or so, as more and more news comes out.
Or, get the fricking jab, like my wife did, and get the ‘rona ANYWAY! Very sick for weeks! Then lingering symptoms for MONTHS!
Awesome post!
No offense to people who like cruises, but when I vacation, I like to be as far away from the crowds as possible.
Stuck on a boat with thousands of humans??
NO WAY!!!
