Well, Omicron is hitting hard. Not the virus itself, but governments’ reaction to the virus. The NY Empire Manufacturing Index has tanked into negative territory.

New orders are down 5%.

On the energy front, West Texas Intermediate Crude Oil futures are up 79% since January 1, 2021 while regular gasoline prices are up “only” 50% over the same period.

How about inflation and the Treasury yield curve? Inflation has soared to 40-year highs under Biden as energy prices (WTI Crude Futures) have soared 79%.

Maybe they should play the Darth Vader theme when Biden goes to the podium to stammer.

Capitalism produces EVERYTHING Socialists/Communists/Democratic-Socialists wish to “redistribute.”

Socialism/Communism/Democratic-Socialism produces NOTHING Socialists/Communists/Democratic-Socialists wish to “redistribute.”

Socialism/Communism/Democratic-Socialism can only exist as a parasite of capitalism.

The more Socialism/Communism/Democratic-Socialism you have, the less capitalism you have.

The less capitalism you have, the less Socialists/Communists/Democratic-Socialists have to “redistribute.”

We are already there! We just don’t know it yet. And if you remember how stagflation ended, right? It always ends in a big collapse.

We are already there!

Yup. We are living the "all at once" phase right now. Hang on to your hard assets.

I think it’s going to get a lot worse before we even start to turn it around.

In Carter’s day we did not have a CCP that makes everything, we did not have a pandemic, the Democrats in that era were not nearly as liberal/communist as now.

Carter was hapless, Biden is mentally deficient, surrounded by crazy liberal zealots who are more than happy to push economic policies like we’ve never experienced before.

Yes, leftists want to redistribute, but not produce. They don’t realize that without the producers in the world there will be little to redistribute.

It would be interesting is someone on Biden’s staff went rogue and slipped into one of Biden’s speeches, the word “Malaise” describing the economy, it would be classic.

Worse really, back then we didn’t have the trillions of debt, rising rates will require more Fed dollars to cover said interest - a viscous death spiral.

True.

In Carter’s day, the President and most of government weren’t business partners with the USSR.

I don’t think “malaise” was in Jimmy’s speech. He called it a “crisis of confidence, “ and that occurred before the hostage crisis.

The press then took the inflation and bad economy out of the 1980 fall campaign. They had already removed the hostage crisis. The campaign was about “whether Ronald Reagan was too old, stupid, scary, and racist to be president.” The media didn’t like or expect the answer voters gave. The anger is building now too.
