As the leader of one of the world’s most visible bands, U2’s Bono is an extremely polarizing figure. On one side, he’s the source for some of the greatest, most popular music of a generation. He has also been one of the most charity minded celebrities covering a cause in ways not seen since the days of Harry Chapin.
And that crossing between entertainer and activist has pushed people into either loving or hating him.

Ugh. I can’t abide Springsteen/Brainstrain.
I hated his pretentious squawling even when I was a liberal.
I’m not a U2 or Bono fan, and after he kidnapped and tortured my music library with his very horrible album, my dislike for him grew immensely. After reading this, maybe I should cut him some slack. He has millions of fans and if this is what he is spreading to them, nothing could be better. He definitely gets it.

I was born in ‘51. Married in ‘83 and kids came in ‘86. I quit listening to modern music about 1980 or so when it got lame, boringly repetitive, over-produced, and just no longer inspirational.
