Which is the express purpose of the NFA of '34 and every gun "regulation", tax, and arbitrary edict to come out of the FedGov and the States.
The BATFE should be disbanded with prejudice. Immediately.
“Great reminder. Thanks.”
Yse, and it’s understandable by me!
You’re doing that thing where people confuse government with society.
Defamation (libel and slander) are torts, not crimes. It is true many states have criminal laws about defamation. It’s also true the feds claim they can regulate speech. What’s not clear is where the authority comes from, especially considering “incorporation” through due process under the 14th amendment.
The authority over human sacrifice is technically left up to the states via the 10th, and federal murder laws (and laws requiring human sacrifice) are on shaky ground. Most states explicitly make murder and suicide a crime, the convention is religions may symbolically perform human sacrifice but individuals may not commit it. Assisted suicide is for people who are dying anyway...even though it looks like a sacrifice to benefit budgetary goals...
“8. The government cannot take away your right to own and keep guns.”
Geez, even the people who are supposed to be on our side can’t get this fairly simple thing right...no wonder the country is so screwed up.
Otherwise, a pretty good summary of limitations on the government...which the government routinely ignores as is convenient for those pulling the levers of power.
One thing the Bill of Rights says that the federal government cannot do is to try to take over regulation of abortion from the states. The 10th Amendment prohibits it, therefore Roe vs Wade is an illegal decision and must be shot down. See Below:
10th AMENDMENT
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
It’s also an imperative. Well-regulated militia is necessary to freedom. The gov’t is required to ensure this goal in addition to the main clause, doing so without infringement on the right to keep and bear arms (e.g. no forcing people to lock up their assault rifles when not training or such).
20+ year old tagline ....... still weeps for what once was.
Armed individuals standing up for their Rights is what is necessary for freedom. You can do that without being in a militia. Hard to have an independent militia without armed individuals.
Don’t put the cart before the horse.
Not sure where you got that idea from either. Not everyone during the Founding liked the militia. Particularly Gen Washington himself.
One fraternity (which will remain nameless) at University of Florida, whose members were kind of like the Delta House. They had a cannon and one hungover member fired it at workers who had disturbed his sleep.

I’m just checking my memory.

They ( meaning those in power ) can do anything they want to you as long as you can’t stop them.
- the second part of catch 22
And, we just always remember that government has no rights. Only people have rights! Always question authority. Big government and agencies love to claim more authority than they actually have.
If we interpret the 2nd the same way the left likes to interpret their favorite constitutional provisions, then not only may the federal government not impede the ownership and carrying of arms, they need to provide them to me if I cannot afford my own.

Felons in many states can’t possess fire arms until certain things are accomplished. And none of them to my knowledge are time served. But the freedom to possess one has been taken away until the hoops are jumped through.

The government cannot come into your home unless it has legal permission from a judge.
Fleeing felon Rule - Fleeing felons may be followed into places not open to the public without a warrant if the officer is in “hot pursuit.” It also defines use of force under the act.

The United States Department of Defense acknowledges holding 99 American citizens captured in Afghanistan, during the “war on terror”, and one of them was held, for a time, in Guantanamo.

That’s in question right now concerning the federal intervention in health care from the states by trying to use OSHA and interstate commerce to force vaccine inoculations.

Rights are legal, social, or ethical principles of freedom or entitlement; that is, rights are the fundamental normative rules about what is allowed of people or owed to people according to some legal system, social convention, or ethical theory. But someone has to determine those rights and can pull the plug at any time with additions and changes to new rights which then completes the process of being a privilege.
The only rights are one and it is God given. It is the right to be conceived. And that can be changed by abortion. But the act happened.
The federal government will never allow a right to exist if they can throttle it. It takes their power away. So they fool people calling them rights but only allowing privileges that they define.

We have a winner!
The Federal Government cannot create and manage a program like Medicare.
The Federal Government cannot create and manage a program like Medicaid.
The Federal Government cannot provide financial support to state or local police, thus federalizing the nation's police forces.
The Federal Government cannot create and manage a program like the National Guard which pretends to be state oriented, but is in essence an extension of the federal armed forces.
The Federal Government cannot create quasi-governmental entities such as the CDC and the Federal Reserve that have the protection of the government but not the necessary oversight, and are outside the realm of essential government duties.
etc.
But it says it may not do a whole bunch.
