“Racist!” “White supremacy!” “Raaaacism!” Yes, noted white supremacist and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Wednesday announced a plan to create a new police unit to target election fraud on a full-time basis, also saying he wants state lawmakers to enhance penalties for cheaters — all in an effort to enhance election integrity. As I suggested in the headline, Democrats are no doubt devastated by the news:

Add a 20-year prison sentence to that and we might just have something. Apparently, though, fair elections are racist.
ALL states should do this!
I understand Mitch & McCarthy gave him this idea.
The funny part is that any future Democrat will look super corrupt when they disband it.
Law and Order isn’t racist.
Period.
Good. This used to not even be necessary, as there already were laws against such cheating. But that was then.
I’m glad to see a Governor taking this seriously enough to announce his intentions to enforce the law and hire enough officers to make that happen.
Will the police on this unit be required to carry IDs?
There may not be any future Democrats. We can hope so, at least. It’s feeling like a trend whose time has come.
Democrats I know don’t identify with this inept “Administration” one bit.
I’m not against this, but Florida isn’t a problem anymore. It’s other states, especially the rustbelt and West Coast.

Yay DeSantis!
Florida IS a problem because it has a few horrible leftist hot-spots, such as Broward County, Alachua County (home of UF), etc. It’s only since DeSantis got in that they’ve started to clean up these corrupt counties, and they have him in their cross-hairs.
The Republicans just got it down to a dull roar [by taking care of the witches of Broward and Palm Beach], so they couldn't steal statewide elections.

Another method could be done via election law:no county reports election results until all counties are ready to report. In other words, no delays to see how many votes are needed to “win”.
Good idea, especially since the Florida panhandle is in another time zone.
Yes, the northeast Atlantic coast counties, some central counties [Hillsborough (Tampa) and Osceola/Orange] and then the southeast counties on the Atlantic coast.

I like DeSantis very much - he’s among a few that I’d currently like to see as President some day.
But what he - and Fox - did in the link below was a BIG mistake. The little girl did NOT look very happy, and no child of that age is capable of understanding the possible ramifications of being ‘paraded’ like this. (The video is less than 6 minutes):
