I played a lot of Off Road, Defender, Battlezone, Astro Blaster, Galaga in the Golden age.
I know a few people who collect and refurb pinball machines, but I was never coordinated enough to play those so I have no favorite, but I appreciate the art and mechanism as I may a fine watch or automobile.
It’s more fun when played with real cars and a real Mack truck
I was never great at arcade games, but that was always a favorite. I enjoyed Qbert too
Many years ago I gave my Dad 15 shares of Microsoft stock for his birthday. Choking up, he asked me why this big gift.
I told him “remember the many times I asked you for quarters at the arcade and you rarely said no? This is the amount I calculated I took from you “
You should try video games now.
2-360 degree thumb sticks
4-way left thumb arrow control
4 buttons for right thumb actions
2 left index finger buttons
2 right index finger buttons
Or does that say “Freightliner”? I can’t read it, it’s so quick
Captain Fantastic pinball.
nice :)
When one of my cousins received an Atari console as a gift, he compiled a huge collection of game cartridges, so I played more games at his house than at an arcade. :)
OMG! I am of the same opinion. Some asshat executive thought that animation was better than truly interactive computer graphics. It is like Hanna-Barbera and Bill Gates got together and had an ugly baby.
Asteroids. & Tempest.
Also Dragon’s Lair. An early Laser Disc animation arcade game. I saved the Princess Daphne many, many quarters later.
I’ve got it on my IPad.
i played at game at an arcade called “CRAZY CLIMBER”...i was obsessed with it..almost won the damn game to take home but 1 other guy beat my high score....
Bars will do that to you. 😎
Started on Space Invaders and Missile Command.
Moved up to Galaga and Defender.
Graduated to Tempest, Robotron, and my favorite of all, Stargate. Inviso, smart bombs, what’s not to like. 2 quarters, of course, was usually good for an hour.
Pac Man? Never. No fire button.
I only had one arcade game that I was good at in the 80’s and that was Phoenix. I owned the high score on every arcade version in the San Fernando Valley for about 2 years I guess.
Never got to Daphne eh?
She’s a babe. And she’s not Heavily dressed either.
No. I was only 8 y/o when it was out.
I still liked hot chicks but wasn’t sure why yet...
All these years later it still provokes my anger. :)
