COVID seems to be the viral gift that keeps on giving, as the world is now dealing with a second wave of illnesses stemming from a variant of the original strain called Delta.
And as such, much of the world is reacting in the same way it did in response to the first wave: Panic.
The first problem region we are seeing is Britain, where supermarkets are now struggling to keep up with demand and ensure the population has an adequate supply of food because of panic buying and hoarding over what the English media is calling a “ping-demic” — which refers to being “pinged by the National Health System’s test-and-trace program.
Some speculated that the ping-demic would eventually cause food shortages in the UK, and sure enough, that’s what’s happening.

I cant find distilled water. Been to three stores so far. Plenty of drinking water.
Can’t figure out why there is a supply issue.
Time to go all in on toilet paper again? I cannot believe how stupid, how spineless, how utterly useless many people have become.
The delta variant will make you a little sicker than the typical flu, and is a more survivable. If we just went about our business, this would all pass.
? Just heard recently that the Covid numbers in England were way down. Maybe the panic numbers are just due to supply issues?
Yup…esp the first part
I’m sure the vendor is putting their resources into the drinking water not distilled.
Personally I think the establishment wants to create the panic. This will help their power grab.
I’m in food distribution. If the panic buys start again, I will be seriously looking at quitting.
Panic buy now!!!! Ahhh ahhh ahhH!11

Yes, they want to create as much panic as possible as they hold the “keys to the solution” on the other hand behind their back.
The article is dated Aug 8 while the twitter photos are dated July 22, 2021 which was during the last peak.
The link “illnesses stemming from a variant” in the first paragraph is link to an article dated July 7, 2021.
Since then, the new cases have drop around 35% and appears to be remaining steady. Article is a month late.
Covid will mutate and circle the globe forever.
Go about your lives.
I have a counter top distiller I bought off of Amazon 5 years ago. I make two gallons a day....basically free.
There are problems now with transporation. That could be the issue.
I guess that makes sense ..although I have checked different store chains. One was Wal-Mart but I just figured typical Wal-mart. Always out of a lot of stuff. I do know Wal-mart is having trouble finding people to work as all are businesses
I have read articles about drinking distilled water but have never done it nor do I want to make it. Just looking for it for my CPAP machine.
I may have to do that. Hadn’t thought of the trucker issue.
Shoot, I let my subscription to Starvation News lapse and the paper girl says she won’t bring it anymore.
The cycle of panic-then-relief-then-panic is in full swing. First they scare us. Then they give hope of relief. Then it’s back to fear again.
Torturers use this tactic. Pain, then relief. But pain soon follows. Relief comes but pain follows swiftly. After a few cycles of this you are ready to do anything they tell you to.
as a temporary solution use bottled drinking water in the CPAP. Just not ever tap water
I grabbed 48 rolls of buttwipe at Costco last week. Their giant wall of paper products was overflowing with stock.
My guess is that “better stock up now” is the gist of just about every article from an outlet called starvation.news.
With 300 bucks a month for each child tax credit and the 25% boost per month in food stamp bucks, the govt is putting a LOT of cash flow out there which is creating demand, also.
