America's First Black Billionaire Calls for 14 Trillion in Reparations for ALL Black Americans — Including HIMSELF
Red State ^ | 06/30/2021 | Mike Miller

Robert L. Johnson, the founder of Black Entertainment Television LLC, better known as BET Networks, says it’s time for America to “atone” for its sins of the past by “paying black people of all stripes — the rich ones, the poor ones, and the middle — out of our pocket.”

And by “of all stripes,” America’s first black billionaire includes himself on the list.

America’s first black billionaire says taxpayers need to fund $14 TRILLION in reparations

— Daily Mail US (@DailyMail) June 30, 2021

As reported by Vice on Tuesday, Johnson, the 75-year-old media magnate, who owns several homes, heads an asset management firm and was the first Black person to own a majority stake in an NBA team, in addition to a hefty price tag of $14 trillion, also wants an apology for slavery, Jim Crow, and “hundreds of years of racism.”

“Reparations would require the entire country to … admit that the result of slavery has been 200 years of systemic racism. And for that reason, black folks have been denied $13-15 trillion of wealth and therefore we as a country now must atone by paying black people of all stripes — the rich ones, the poor ones, and the middle — out of our pocket.”

And what must America do to “atone,” as Robinson sees it?

Reparation [has] two components: The first [is] atonement, and the other [is] monetary,” With no doubt whatsoever, it [is] supposed to come from the government representing the people of the country. [is] reimbursement, or recompense if you will, for the harm.”

As it relates to himself and other wealthy Blacks, why on earth do they need the money? Ah, but it’s not about need, claims Johnson. Moreover, the billionaire argues that rich Blacks are even more deserving because they have a proven track record in putting their money to work.

“If you’re a successful black business, the idea is you’ve had enough. No one ever asks if [a white-owned business] is too rich to benefit from investing in a football stadium or receiving other benefits like preferential tax treatment or liquidity injections from the Federal Reserve.”

Not to nitpick, Mr. Johnson — but of course “they” do. “They” — Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Barack “How Much Is Enough?” Obama, et al. —say exactly that.

Incidentally, Robinson has been pushing “wealth transfer” from White Americans to Black Americans for years, telling Fox News last year, as reported by Daily Mail:

“You want a big idea: White America — what would happen if you said, ‘Please forgive us and accept our apology. And by the way, we think we owe you what was taken from you for over 300 years of slavery, Jim Crow, segregation, and denial of economic opportunity and rights.”

What would happen, Mr. Johnson?

How ’bout you get after that — bigly — and then you tell the rest of us what did happen. Moreover, liberals — including Black liberals — are like children. They can never get “enough.” They are never satisfied until they get “more.” Piece by piece, bite by bite.

To suggest that “just” $14 trillion would “get it done” is, IMHO, naive as hell.

So what’s the end game, Mr. Johnson? What expectations would you have for your $14-trillion atonement check?

“We want to end systemic racism, we want to end police brutality and shootings, and to provide financing to Black small business owners.”

And there it is. He hit every talking point with which we’ve been bombarded — from Black Lives Matter Marxists, Antifa anarchists, the Democrat Party, and the liberal lapdog media — for more than a year.

The irony is, of course, that the actions and rhetoric of the radical left have only served to exacerbate every one of those talking points, including pretend-systemic racism.

Meanwhile, the far-left band continues to play on.

Ah, FU Mr. Billions.

Black people in the US should be thankful for slavery......they are amazingly better of having had gone through all the injustice, than their brethren who remained on the continent.

Okay but pay them the going rate of what a white farmer would have made back then like $1.25 a week.

I have a counter-offer: $100,000 per person in reparations, and it comes with a ticket to anywhere in the world that will take you. But to accept you must: renounce your citizenship, agree to deportation, and forfeit any right ever to return to this racist country.

Or you can forego the reparations and stay, but if you do, you are choosing to be a part of this nation with all its historical baggage, and you will leave historical grievances in the past.

That would be about $4 trillion if they all say yes. I think that would be a bargain considering the money we would save in the long run.

We are willing to give the buttwipe 14 trillion objects - but they’re not exactly shaped the way he’d like them.

Shove it, idiot.
Shove it often, shove it deep.
And just try bringing it.
We’ve had enough.

My (naive?) response is “He’s a Billionaire!!! Isn’t he rich enough already?” The answer may be that for many wealthy, money is something one can never have ‘too much’ of.

They spend the first half of their lives earning, and the second half of their lives worrying about losing it.

All good. But let’s then deduct from the reparations the difference between economic outcomes of those removed from Africa and those left behind.

They’ll end up owing a bit of a tab.

"14 Trillion in Reparations"

According to the CATO Institute (here), we spent over $23 trillion on Lyndon Johnson's "war on poverty" from 1965 to 2017.
