He states most probably a reload.
Commercial = factory loads.
Reloads = collect spent brass and reload them yourself or have a *trusted* person reload it for you.

Hot round. Period.
A Hot round is when you put more powder in than it calls for or the max limit!!!

Remember this and tell others:
There are FOUR arteries that supply the head/brain. Two in the front half of the neck and two in the back.
If only one is cut, find it and pinch it. Actually reach into the wound and pinch it tight.
If necessary use pliers and tape.
The other 3 will make use of the cross-over arterial network in the head and keep the man alive.
Only a vascular surgeon should remove the pliers.
That is only if you want to save the person’s life. If you want them to die, do nothing or step on their chest.

No barrel blockage found. Previous round hit the target. Was hitting all over the map. Had some odd things happen during the shooting that in retrospect were a sign of degraded powder.
There’s been much discussion about this on several gun savvy channels like Forgotten Weapons. A very hot round can produce enough pressure (Mark Serbu who designed the gun estimated that it would take 85K psi to cause such a failure) to act like bore obstruction. In Scott’s video a previous round produced more than normal muzzle flash. SLAP rounds are hard to find and pricey. There has been a huge increase of counterfeit vintage and collectible firearms with the internet. Why not on ammo that goes for $100 plus a round? It might pass casual inspection but have any number of flaws that could prove disastrous.
So? The size of the brass prevents any type of catastrophic failure. Almost all the reloads I’ve seen and fabricated myself exceed factory specs. Home loaders rock.

It was sold to him as a .50. Caliber SLAP round, Sabot Light Armor Penetrating. They’ve been discontinued for a couple of decades and are about $100 each if you can find them.
I’d never fire one in my .50 Serbu as the instructions specifically state firing any type of sabot will void the warranty.

He was famous already. He has 1.2 million subs. Meanwhile, only FReepers will remember the tale of old Humblegunner decades from now, and the tales will be mostly about how you raged night and day about bloggers.
Probably just haven’t found him yet despite his sub count. Hopefully they don’t see this story.
SLAP rounds are trey cool. I lucked on to 2 dozen a few years ago. I wasted four testing. Wow - I guarantee one would go through an engine block. Grab them if you can find them. At whatever cost.
He’s a very lucky man. Damn shame such a freak accident occurred, or did someone try to sabotage him?.
