I am on the Board at a local dog club. We have many club members that are asking in classes or other occasions if other club members present are vaccinated. A few times I've been close by and said out loud "that is private medical information and you can't ask that" at which point the person usually sheepishly says they "were only kidding" (right!).
One of the venue organizations that puts on trials locally recently put this out on their site: "Clubs, Judges and or Exhibitors are not permitted to require, determine eligibility, or ask about exhibitors' vaccinations in such a way that it may be felt discriminitory or an invasion of their medical privacy to those who have or have not been vaccinated."
I'd love to propose our club having such a policy at our next board meeting BUT all but one or two on the board are liberal (mask nazi's also!) and will see nothing wrong with vaccination queries being asked by others.
I've already tried talking with one of them and they saw NOTHING wrong with people asking, didn't see that it was private information since "it's so contagious" and flat out said this wouldn't be an issue if everyone just got their vaccination.
So....I'm looking for some good suggestions and information that I can counter with. I need my ducks in a row before I present this!

Just tell them you think asking people if they are vaccinated is an unwarranted promotion of Operation Warp Speed by Trump, and you don’t appreciate it. That should shut them up.

HIPAA laws prevent involuntary disclosure of medial information to non covered entities, non governmental or private entities They can get around this, if a private company, employer, etc. has a public health mandate of some kind. Lawyers should have fun with this one.

When a company challenges you for your covid vaccine status, just say,
“I’d be happy to show you my vaccine status after you show me the results of your last HIPAA Audit.”
Maybe depending on if they are Male or Female,
I would say, WELL you tell me first,
“Do you have Erectile Dysfunction?” to a Male and to a Female?
Well you tell me first, “Does your Husband have Erectile Dysfunction?”

Nope.
1. Ban the question about being vaccinated.
2. If you have not been vaccinate and you feel vulnerable you can wear a mask and that’s O.K.
3. Anyone not feeling vulnerable does not have to wear a mask if they do not want to.
4. The answer about being vaccinated is no one’s business now, anymore than it was every flu season.
5. If not knowing if someone has been vaccinated makes you feel vulnerable, then 2. applies to you - you can wear a mask if you want to.
6. To mask or not to mask should not put anyone off; just accept what someone else thinks is necessary or not necessary for them.
