Coke Gets a Kick in the Can from Consumers

A week into the fiasco over Georgia's election law, most Americans want to know: just who are these woke CEOs listening to? Not to their shareholders, who can't make a profit when their companies alienate half of the country. Not to lawyers or legislators, who could set them straight on what the policy actually does. And certainly not to U.S. consumers, who are sending a resounding message that they're done with businesses who can't check their radicalism at the door long enough to read a 98-page piece of legislation.

"It's insanity," Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.) agreed on "Washington Watch." Like most people, he can't believe that Major League Baseball, Coca-Cola, Delta, and so many others would put the solvency of their companies on the line to make a political point that -- it turns out -- isn't even true! When even MSNBC is telling Joe Biden he "needs to keep it honest," the Democratic Party has reached a low even the liberal media can't believe. And yet the White House and its field marshals in Hollywood and Atlanta created such a ridiculous narrative about this law that people like Willie Geist are going on the most radical news outlet in the country and insisting it's impossible to "square the president's argument."

"[D]oesn't it seem that a lot of people jumped the gun?" Joe Scarborough asked in follow-up. They moved the MLB All-Star Game "before actually either reading the bill or understanding how the bill lined up with New Jersey laws, with New York laws, with laws all across the nation," he said. Then, astounding even more viewers, he took aim at the lynchpin of the Left's whole argument. "...

It does little good to say that “Coca-Cola,” “Delta,” “Major League Baseball,” and so forth decided this, that, or the other thing. The media should specify that James Quincey (Coca-Cola), Ed Bastian (Delta), Robert Manfred (MLB), et al, made the decisions to alienate consumers based on leftist idiocy. Make it personal. Not only are they bowing to lefties, they are lying about what the law actually says. And since they do not want us to show our IDs when we vote, does that mean we can board a plane or pick up tickets at will call without ID?

Insanity run amok.

They are selling a mildly addicting natural product. It’s all about packaging it to make it is avaiable to many different tastes.
Since caffeine has some benefits and doesnt generally cause socially dangerous behaviour it is acceptable...but it is mildly addicting. Think of all the businesses based on caffeine consumption. Lots of money in those beans and leaves.

NO! Not Gold Peak Tea!! Their Raspberry, Peach and Lightly Sweetened teas are great.

PURE Tea hasn’t learned to produce any of those flavors. Come on guys. If we are going to boycott Gold Peak, you’ve got to “get with the flavor program”.

Meanwhile, I’ve come up with a few descriptive names for other leftist companies re MLB, flying, etc.

* American Airlines is now “UnAmerican Airlines”
* United Airlines is “Disunited Airlines”
* Delta is “Gone With the Wind”

Home Depot - Hope it isn’t in on this crap. But my answer would be “LOWES”, right down the street and any local hardware store.

Target - Just don’t know about them but my key one hasn’t stocked affordable canned catfood for months. My cat has to go down to the local stream with a fishing rod to get her dinner. Oh the horror of it.

Coca-Cola is out. PEPSI is in!

We always were big Coke drinkers until a few years ago when we cut back for health reasons, and now we drink mostly home brewed iced tea.

Even so, I usually kept some diet decaf Coke on hand until a couple of weeks ago. Now I have diet decaf Pepsi and it is pretty good.

I have to agree on Sprite though. Seven Up is not nearly as good. I need to try Sierra Mist, which is popular in this area.

N.B.

Pepsi, Lowe’s and Target are just the woke, or more woke, as the others

All gave lots of money to BLM

And Target lets men molest girls in its bathrooms.

I gave up Coke, my soda of choice, and all other sodas for Lent 10 years ago and never went back. Best thing I ever did for myself.

I more or less gave up carbonated soft drinks for approximately four years. Then some challenging personal circumstances led me to say, “To hell with it. If I feel like drinking sodas, I’m going to do so.” And pretty soon I was back to being a Coke drinker again. And that lasted nearly 3 years, but I just quit again about 25 days ago. I must admit that an ice cold Coke does go well with some foods such as salty snacks, so I do kinda miss it. But more me it’s pretty much all or nothing. I’m trying “nothing” for a while. And this political crap from them seals the deal.

Maybe now they’ll have to lower their ridiculously high prices on a 12 pack.

So Jack and Coke is no longer a thing?

Or any hard drinks that require Sprite?

Water and Canadian Club are piss-poor substitutes

Yeah. Water and lemon ice tea just doesn’t do it for me. Neither does the famous German carbonated water.

Tried Cirkul. Just doesn’t do it for me either.

Need my Sprite and Coke for my hard drinks.

If it’s not hard drinks, it’s just beer as a drink.

Had it at a Burger King in the Philippines and at a Taco Bell in Boulder, CO. Tasted like bad water in both cases. No taste. Never ask for Sprite as that’s what you get there.

When we were kids, we didn’t drink Coke or 7-Up (except on holidays) or Pepsi. We drank Shasta, a local (California) soft drink brand. It had many different flavors, including cola.

Shasta is owned by National Beverages, which also makes Faygo.

https://www.nationalbeverage.com/

Also, Shasta is kosher certified. Didn’t know that until today.

Yeah. Shasta tasted absolutely terrible. But as kids, we didn’t care.

I actually liked Glen Rock Pop (Waukegan, IL) Not available any where outside of Northern Illinois. Got used to it.

It would seem to me that these CEO’s couldn’t help but know that there selfish, virtue-signaling comments were certain to destroy millions of dollars of value in these corporations, thereby violating their fiduciary duty to the stockholders. It should be civilly actionable and potentially criminal negligence.

Wow, I don’t use any C-C products listed... but I don’t drink soda much at all, if ever.

I did find the list interesting in that Fanta was a German product that was started early in the World War II and it was formulated to counter the nonavailability of Coke due to the trade embargo imposed following the Japanese attack on Pearl.
