I ran across Harry Turtledove's Twitter feed and it turns out he is an Trump hating super liberal loon. He just accused Sen Josh Hawley of being a Nazi and that was the final straw for me.
I am pretty sure most (probably 90%) of his reading audience aka customers tend to be men who fall on the right of the political spectrum.
Stop making this liberal and other liberal scum any money. So if I may humbly ask for a boycott against Harry Turtledove. I won't post links to his Twitter and I am pretty sure it is his account but he also wrote an anti Trump book - so even if it was not his Twitter that is good enough for me to boycott him for life and I hope most if not all of you agree.
I don’t even think I need to mention who Harry Turtledove is - I bet on liberal forums I would probably have to or they look him up. That is why I think a boycott of him by the right would be devastating to him - I bet that is most if not all of his reading audience.
It only stands to reason that Turtledove would be a liberal. They all live to rewrite history.
Too bad, I always liked his books.
I really enjoyed his “Guns of the South”. And it made the case the Robert E. Lee was never a virulent racist who would sympathize with a modern nazi type racist.
He must be scared they are coming after him next.
Oh well, I didn’t even know he was still alive. So that’s how relevant he is today.
Got a link to your blog?
People like the one you mentioned are almost always paid "internet consultants" from some Soros/DNC founded "advocacy" group. They get paid not only by the post but also by the response. Remember each time you reply to one of them, THEY get paid and all you get is aggravation.
Yes, he is. He entered the real book market by trying to endear himself to the Southern US Democrats with a book “Guns of the South” as alternate history/sci-fi that the CSA won the war with the North, and did so with the help of (of course, what else NEO NAZI white South Africans trying to alter history and fight their Communist takeover, by sending AK-47’s through a time machine back to 1860’s, as well as other modern technical inventions/pharma, to give the CSA the number advantage (penicillin, antibiotics too) and armament superiority).
His politics made HUGE assumptions about Southern heritage contemporary voters— racists, Nazis, etc. The SAME as what he is touting now— and still missing the point that these views were all shared by DEMOCRATS. In the North a rather famous group were Copperheads, and those supporting McClellan vs. Lincoln. A huge gap in his assumptions— because today the white and black ultra libs are ALL for the destruction of the entire Constitutional Union by SOCIALISM,
and not NATIONALIST Socialism but Globalist Socialism— which is, of course Communism.
Just now y’all figurin’ that out?
I figured out he was a Leftist from his fiction long ago.
Doesn’t mean he isn’t a good and imaginative writer, though.
I read Guns of the South twice. That was my introduction to “alternate history”. I ended up with about 15 of his books, all in hardback, and eventually just gave them all away. I got them at estate sales so I didn’t pay much.
The problem was that I just felt like I was being strung along. I just lost interest when a story that I though could have been covered in one - or maybe two - books, just dragged on and on through multiple books. The series about the Alien attack in the middle of WWII was really great for one or two books, though.
The amorality of his books also got to me.
I figure Turtledove has made enough money off the people he hates buying his books.
I do not have a blog.
Not sure if it was him but there was this book I saw once and never got. Now I cannot even find a title. It was an alternative history that places a Special Forces A team in with the defenders of the Alamo.
Dang it. I should have bought it. Oh well, at least every knife I bought in the 70s and 80s is now a prized collectible. Just luck I guess. But I made sure my daughter knew what each was and showed her what they go for on Ebay. I didn’t want her to use them for digging in the garden. She just shook her head and said she’s going to have some questions someday if I’m ever sedated.
I will not - I have been banned from Twitter over like 50 times because I get my jollies making the life of liberals hell on social media if I can.
The author?
No - I will not enrich another Democrat who will use that money to put me in a reeducation camp one day or worse.
Yes, the alternative history author.
I started to read one of his books, but this viewpoint, plus the fact that he is so long-winded turned me off.
When I first got on twitter years ago Harry was one of the first people I followed. I asked him a few times why he was alienating loyal readers like me with his hyper-partisan political tweets. He never responded and I unfollowed and haven’t bought one of his books since. To be honest his last few years of books have been crappy anyway. I end of the Civil War series was just WWII with the names changed. My guess is he gave a grad student a few notes and she wrote it for him.
